Please help! I will move to Cork soon and well, you know... market questions
Hi all.
Due to work related reasons, I will be living in Cork from early September until late November. I live in a far away continent and have never even been to Europe before, so needless to say I'm clueless about the local Irish market. So... how is the cannabis market in Cork? Is it abundant or hard to find? I read some of the posts here and it seems like the government is very repressive about this in Ireland. What would be my best shot for scoring some weed in Cork? Are there any grow shops or hangout places I should know about? If I happen to find someone smoking, would that person be cool if I asked to smoke and ask some questions? Also, what are the prices like? Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I obviously love my weed like most people here but I would never dare trying to bring my own on an international flight. Please PM or something. Is there someplace else on the internet where I can post these questions and get more feedback? I used to frequent the ICmag forums back in 2006-2007, right after overgrow was shut down and I was between my first couple of crops. But unfortunately I haven't been following any cannabis forums lately (I created a new account just because I was paranoid about my employers reading this message - which will never happen but still - and then identifying me through information posted on my messages, i.e. the continent where I live in). Well, I guess I would also appreciate general tips on fun things to do in Cork, places to eat... whatever! Anything at all, really! Thanks everyone! |

From annother thread:

100 miles from dublin Ireland..... 50 euro for 3 grams of "top quality" shitty glassy no flavour buds. Full of powered glass or some other nonsense. Good buds can be had but you have to really know a grower. 3.5g from the growers for 50e.Properly dried and cured... big fat bags. Some gimps sellin 5 gs for 100e..wet.. Knobs. pollen seems to be the new soapbar. Some really muck stuff being pawned as pollen lately. Looks homemade by Gypsies or somethin. 50 for a Q. Some very good hash available tho.... some top quality from afghanistan crept in a few weeks ago. Way tastier than anythin Amsterdam has ever offered me in the afghan department. 12.50 on the G. Some quality moroccans available on and off. usually 10 g for 100e. Good price for what you get. Not seen soapbar in 2 years...thank god. Some caramellos landed not long ago from Bab taza in Maroc. 5 gs for 100e. Serious hashish..called hardulla. Sticky and stinky. Can smell it from your pocket. hope this helps.... |

If your moving to cork, grow your own man.
Unless you really know someone, i mean someone you can find again after you pay for the smoke your prob gonna get grit, dipped weed, or wet weed. Its a shame cause alot of the wet stuff is homegrowers sellin good shit wet. Whats even worse is that most of the fools sellin it dont know the difference between there crap sprayed stuff and good decent weed "I dont care boi, it gets me stoned like" If you ever see people rolling with John player blues and 3 skinner green rizlas stay away, ill bet my life its grit Fools they be |

Well, that's a bummer. Growing is not an option because I'm only staying for 3 months.
Thanks for your help anyway! |

Cork is a place of extremes for weed, depending on who you know. But don't just listen to all the overwhelming negativity. I personally think things are better now than they have been for years. Plenty of homegrown knocking about, and while the riddiculous trend of a 50 bag isin't going away anytime soon, plenty of people are selling fat eights for 30 quid.
I find the best stuff to be from down to earth growers. Forget the alternative youth. A bunch of self righteous, stuck up their own arse stoners who are relatively harmless but will dole out the best bags to their little in circle and leave outsiders ripped off. Can't say I have seen soapbar for ages meself. Plenty of 'pollen' knocking about alright lately. It looks clean as hell to be fair but good lord is it weak or what. You can chain smoke joints of the thing to no effect. Just make some friends mate. Once you have any sort of social circle in Cork whatsoever you will find that the weed will get easier and easier to find. It's always tough starting out but good stuff can be had .

So you here yet man? I'm not too sure about cork but if you meet anyone friendly from dublin they sure could sort you out. I wouldnt buy anything less than an ounce at a time though. Fuck that 3.5 for 50 quid... Just refuse to pay anything more than a tenner a gram...
Anything more is nonsense. |
