Pacific G13 questions? - Dutchgrown Seeds - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

Good day fellow lovers of the herbage.

I have grown crosses with the airborne G13 in the past, but never the pacific.
I currently have 18 mystic gems, and 20 lui13 and would like to know a little something about the Pacific G13 used in those crosses. Maybe ya'll could help a brother out?

Some pictures? Point me where to gander please!

Stature?
Appetite?
Attributes?
Duration?

I have heard its some potent med, and if Dgrown is using it in her crosses i am sure it's special, but why?

Usually the mention of G13....in any form, brings forth differing opinions, no matter if A or P...(it is entirely possible that the two versions are related or even the same but with a different name applied years ago)...What I do know for fact is the GN03 G13bx (Pacific) is a stable, extremely potent, but, imo less than what I'd label as a most flavorful herb...if G13 can be said to have a down side, it's the lack of flavor imvho.

Imo Pacific G13 leans heavily into a category that terms like earthy, musky, and dark best describe it's flavor...while on the other hand, it is very stable, grows quickly in veg, expresses a vast amount of trichome production, produces dense heavy nugs with a high calyx to leaf ratio, and holds a very intense and long lasting degree of potency. So for every yin there's a yang

....what this special plant lacks in flavor it most surely makes up for in many other very desirable traits. Her growth in early veg produces a thick sturdy stem with fat leaves and demonstrates good branching, staying somewhat short in stature.

What I have done is to grow out a large lot of seeds Gypsy retained from his GN03 Collection and selected P1 males and P1 females...retaining a stellar male that was used in some of my earlier releases....as well as selecting P1 mother stock.

For example, Killer Queen Redux (KQR) represented a joint project with Reservoir's kickass C99 mom and my selected G13 male, with this union resulting in an ICMag 420 Cup Breeder Indica award this year.

I have lots of G13bx pics....but you'll see more of G13bx as the new project comes closer to release....such as the G13bx sibling incross that Gypsy commissioned me to make for him...thereby soon returning the availability of G13 back into his collection....there will also be an upcoming release by DGS of:

CBG Destroyer x G13bx
Orig Bros Grimm DTC99 x G13bx
Orig Bros Grimm Ice Princess x G13bx

ahh a most thorough reply! Thanks for taking your time and sharing it with humble ole me.
I am now edumacated on the G13 and am even more excited to grow it's cross' then i was before.
I will certainly be contributing a grow report to this here forum once things get a bit more exciting!

Ah yes, the infamous G13 created in a secret government lab....

Hey DG, i'm curious, what dont you like or what is it lacking in flavor? Or what DO you think is a great tasting bud?

I'm assuming that's you in one of the pictures? It's almost weird for me to see a women grower...outside of my wife I dont know of any...except the ones on ICM of course...

I like G13, smells like coffee with an herbal twist to it. But i have always wondered why so many people think its special. Its really an overall great growing plant but nothing "special" except the reputation. Used as part of a breeding I can see why its used as it's very stable and....do i dare say very average...i mean that in a good way....it's so average that it becomes a great and exceptional breeding partner. The high is consistent and strong!

Imvho, i think its a basic indica with some, say 25% sativa in it...probably an indica along the lines of a Mazar I shariff? The real G13 has been around for a while...but there are many copy cats out there that want to make some $$ off the reputation. Hell, i remember a friend of mine ranting and raving about how it was created by the government and that we HAD to get some no matter the cost! Gypsy's is the real deal and from what i have read goes back a ways...

DG, those upcoming releases are going to be outstanding! I cant wait to see the Destroyer/G13 mix....I've always thought they would be a great fit.

inreplyavalon.....you have come to the right place to get what you are looking for! NO one creates better breeds than DG and her breeding stock is second to none!

Justa...what one likes often varies from someone else. And like you say, the lighter flavor (depending on what it's combined with) makes it a good stable parent plant. I'm not saying it tastes bad...I'm just saying it doesn't have what I'd call an extremely unique one. What you call coffee...might be what I relate to as earthy. I do respectfully disagree with you regarding potency...and in broad labeling G13 as lacking potency...it depends on the source, and the selection made....both of which I'm happy with.

You are right though....the new varieties are going to kick ass.
