Instant replay in MLB?
So lately there's been talk about instituting more instant replay (IR) in baseball, what do you baseball fans have to say about it?
Currently they're using it to determine home run balls (hitting foul poles, fences, fan interference etc) in any given game; but recently we've also see that the umps are quite often wrong in a sport that's more exacting than even football as far as inches and split seconds are concerned. As the commission considers whether or not to put more IR into use what's your own opinion on it? Feel free to choose more than one response in the poll if it helps you to define your opinion. poll will close during 2010 playoffs or world series. Keep it as is. The fact that the imps are human allows the true spirit of the game to live on.
I also think soccer should use it for goals scored (in the world cup) for example when they are playing at such an occasional event, etc. But that's another story. |

baseball on the other hand usually has a single play (unless a double play occurs) to look at and of course the play is usually halted (whether safe or out) immediately. and really w/todays camera technology we see the true call within seconds from the broadcast booth. just as in american football each manager could be given 2 opportunities to call for a replay, maybe automatic reviews in 8th/9th innings....... |
