[IMG]https://[/IMG] hey folks; I wanted to show some pic's of this yumbolt bud! and am very curious to hear back from anyone with freak type' buds that grew simmiliar to this one below: it grew from the very bottom branch&kept close to the main stem&got very little light;was harvested a week ago' strange part is the very top is un'usuall as it wont open up like a norml bud should' it has very thick skin type'growth covering the top! and rock solid also: suits the name-yumbolt i reckon'' as thats what i hear from me mates>YUM<

hey there mardoc! crazy shit aye mate, I noticed this when i 1st grew as a teen outdoors with over large Seeds! simple as that my friend" and i let them grow as a over large/topped plant if indoors. wont happen everytime of course' and as far as indoors goes maybe its me useing a small space like a closet! I had an old lite shade'(400wtts) and in a closet the lite would only fully lite up one side more than the other, so too clones are doing there norml thing,while the other too clones on the shaded side" gro a little smaller but heaps quicker to flower. myn had massive white hair growth to start with' not like that yumbolt bud! and were greasy as hell. plus i either turn the light off in the last two weeks of flower' or at least turn turn it down to 8-9hours.ive read a few members here do the same' plus the power you save is a bonus. HERES A PIC of that_ bolt/dick i nick named it" LOL. the smoke was no differen't to the rest of the plant! just as good as the tops though mate. myn had a very strong berry fruit like flavour as soon as it was dried and that went away when cured. pissed me off! as another plant i had to clone and give the chop in the same gro' had no flavour like that one did??? I have a friend who grows an awsome sativa strain he calls bio-diesel that grew with a flat stem and the top did that same thing with the top except his grew a little question mark pattern.

I've com across a few ribbon stemmed plants also that have done similar to that at the top. Since the stem is ribbon shaped the nodes go weird beccause the narrow axis of the stem has very few leaves or branches coming out of it so the plants get a lot of bud leaf and branches forming our of one dimension but are narrower on the other dimension. I've read this can be a symptom of a zinc deficiency since I grow organic I can't just up the zinc content. One plant (ghana gold) did this from the start and a few branches would do this also. The other was a destroyer zamal and started to display this trait at the 13th node similar to yours.
