Thank you for stopping by and spending some of your time with us in this thread!

So, In this thread I will be posting updates to an on going Time Lapse Video Shoot. This shoot will be of a variety of plants and the hope is to vividly capture a "seed to harvest" style grow under LED lighting and publish it in an enjoyable Time Lapse Format. One of the tricky parts of this Time Lapse shoot is that we am trying to capture the whole plant ... yes that means even the roots too.
Obviously there are some technical issues to overcome, to say the least, in this project but I do hope we are able to produce a set of enjoyable videos.

One of the problems that I am working on solving is kind of exciting, to me, in a challenging way. Capturing Root Growth: You will see in the preliminary test video the route we are going with watching soil roots grow. Something I am trying to work out is if I can realistically pull off a root growth capture in a hydro grow, like a DWC. Lots of issues to still work out with that.


I would also like to take a moment to give a well deserved "Thank You" to LEDGirl and the folks over at Hydro Grow LED for helping us make this project possible. With their very generous help this project is being filmed using their 205w Penetrator LED Grow Light. Thank You.

first things first, let's build the room.

I will be using a DR60 24"x 24" footprint grow tent in the side area of a closet that is slightly bigger then 22" x 24" so I will modify the tent to accommodate.

Here I cut the wall of the closet to install 10"x 4" to 4" round duct for the exhaust ducting to connect to.


This is what the exhaust vent looks like outside of the room.


here is a pic of the the bottom of closet as I was installing the single gang low voltage trim rings and split plates to transition the electrical into the closet from the exterior room. The 1/4 round floor trim was removed to add room for tent.

Ok, so the tent is up and you will notice the wood dowels. I removed 4 of the "A" labeled tent tubes and just got oak dowels as a replacement. I cut to the appropriate size and sanded the leading ridge on each side of each dowel as to not add extra stress to the plastic tent corners.



Phresh Carbon Filter 4" x 8" 150 CFM is in and insulated ducting is pulled into tent. The dual sleeves on every entrance of this tent come in very handy.



OK ... time for what those of you in this forum care about ...

The HydroGrowLED 205W Penetrator LED Grow Light:


It is hung from the yo-yos, with simply a couple of bowline knots to take the weight for the first time. Let there be Light.

So the first batch is well underway. When it's done I should have the first of a few videos. Then this project will make more sense ....
