Thanks BS, Unc., sorry no veg pics. Smells like musty pineapples on both plants, the taller one is more musty less pineapple but they smell pretty similar. Will get better pics later today, battery was going dead so I just took what I could while I could so current pics suck. Brainfreeze doesn't seem to get a lot of luv and these are awesome plants so I figured I'd throw up somethin. Wathchin your show as well Unc.
And before I forget thanks DG for the genes and selection!! ![]()

thats a good way to describe the odor of mine as well, kinda old gym bag with tropical scent over the top, maybe sweaty pineapple is better....I hope mine bud up as nice as yours, unfortunately these are the one strain i didnt manage to get cuts off of,i am going to get another pack(or two) and do a 15 seed run,i had a plant fool me,turned out to be a male, but it was soooo beautiful, the structure and branching...it was all there,,,wish i had been able to keep him around...
anyway,I agree,Brainfreeze need more grows shown here,I keep getting the feeling it may be the sleeper from the line.... |

Thanks for your pics Tuggo.
You've got some really serious buddage building there. A bit curious, I don't spot many fan leaves in your pics...did you have a prob of some sort and have to remove them, or, you remove them as part of your growing regime, or...????? Otherwise, they are sure looking like a nice yield is coming your way in a few short weeks. ![]() ![]() DG |

Nah, no probs whatsoever. She grew like a champ throughout veg and so far through flwer. Very vigorous. The reason there are no fans is because I was reading the defoliation thread and figured hell with it she treated all my other screwups like minor speedbumps so why not give it a try. So far so good, will update till chopped, dried, and smoked so hopefully people will sleep no longer on da freeze!

Hi Tuggo
![]() I had a short read in that thread you mentioned...I must fall into one of the scientifically educated vs learning through experimentation folks they speak of. I haven't had time to read the whole thread, it is quite long, but will certainly be following your thread here to see how things go. Best of success to you! I will say that when growing in the dam, where 'yield' is extremely important, there were many other Dutch growers that were doing this, although not as radical as what I see in the thread you reference and I have taken larger fan leaves off, but not more than 2-3 per plant at a time, never getting to a point where there were no more fans present. Personally, I never saw an increase in yield by that method...and when supplying coffee shops, maximizing yield is most important. Anyway, to each his/her own....I really don't have time to debate in that thread about it...if it is working for some folks that's great....but scientifically it makes zero sense to me, based on my previous education. ![]() DG |

Dg why is yield SO important when growing for coffee shops? Is it because they don't pay much for herb so its best to have a lot, or some other reason i am missing?
Tuggo thanks for sharing, i have a pack of these and will be launching them real soon! |

inreplyavalon...not to take this thread too off topic....but just to answer your question, when doing a commercial run, both yield and quality are the two most important factors. Back then when I was doing this in the dam, well....it's all about maximizing yield while working around the space constraints (most Dutch housing is rather small, especially in the dam where housing is more vertical than horizontal)....coffee shops prefer to have access to a variety that they have placed on their permanent menu to sustain inventory until the next run is completed....so they don't run out.
This was in 1999-2003.Thanks for your interest! ![]() ![]() DG |
