SOL genetics everywhere!!!!....
It's kinda crazy, since I've started growing this fine plant we all love, I've always been one that loves to try different breeders gear/strains to get a perspective on everyone's crosses.
One thing I've noticed....a lot lately, is just how many strains there are that have come from SOL... For example, not only do I have a Adventure pack already, along with some blubonic coming, but I also have some other strains that are derived from SOL genetics, or just sound like the same. Example 1: Currently growing: Chimera's Sweetest Sativa (Sweet Skunk x Blueberry).... This certainly sounds like the exact same thing as "Sweet Blue".... Heres' the 3 gals I have in flower now: Example 2: Like I said above, I love to try new gear, and one I've heard great praise about for some time now is Grindhouse Seeds, and luckily I got my hands on some Blue Sonja...which has genes derived from Blockhead! It really makes me wonder, just how many more strains from random breeders have SOL genetics as there building blocks. I'm sure a few of you can tell me tons more strains that has SOL genetics incorporated into them, so go on now, DOOOOO IT..... OPT

Sadly, I had to put the above gals down due to security concerns, as well as the clones I had, etc :(
Will run out the rest of the pack sometime in the future, I just don't know when that will be! OPT

This is because it is the exact same strain. Chimera made the strain with DJ Shorts and sold a ton of seeds to SOL who sold it under their name. Chimera, SOL, DJ all work with each other from time to time. They are all Canadian based breeders and have known each other for probably a decade or more. Chimera's Sweetest Sativa was for sale far earlier than Sweet Blue was around. ^ this kind of stuff happens constantly in the seed business and I do not like it one bit. It should be sold under same name period whether they switched hands or not its the same damn genetics. Not knockin the genetics at all they are great...business practice not so great imo but this is standard in the industry currently just like knock-offs and F2's sold under other names. Steve may have made his own selections from Chimera's work and reworked his own version, but from what I remember Chimera bred it and released it under his company first and then sold some stash to SOL. Doesn't matter if it is Sweetest Sativa or Sweet Blue. P.S. Someone correct me if you know I am wrong as this just from memory from doing my own research some months ago that led me to not buy Sweet Blue as I had already grown it by the original Name of Sweetest Sativa. thanks for the heads up- youknowwhoyouare.
The Sweetest Sativa (now under the name Dolce Sativa) is in fact Sweet Blue. The first extremely small batch of Sweet Blues were created by legends using the Sweet Skunk clone, when they created the F13, True Blue, OTM etc for DJ. When I ran the DJ/Chimera joint projects, I included about 25 large GF plants and 10 large Sweet Skunk individuals in the room for SOL in order to maintain a decent level of the Sweet Tooth 1.1 and Sweet Blue Stock, and not let them fall by the 'one off' roadside. The seeds were initially intended to be sold under the SOL label. However, after a year of small purchases from SOL (10-20 packs every couple of months), it was made clear to SOL that they would need to purchase a substantial amount of the seeds, or that I would list them in my own catalogue or sell them in bulk to others to label as they wish so that I could recoup the investment I made in their production. The reason I didn't list them as Sweet Tooth 1.1 and Sweet Blue in my catalogue is out of respect for SOL's marketing of their specific brands (ie the Sweet Tooth and Sweet Blue names). Unfortunately, this creates a situation where some people get upset that they are not listed everywhere as Sweet Tooth 1.1 or Sweet Blue - being the same seeds- they say it is too confusing. These people must realize that if I were to try to satisfy their request, I would be making other people angry by using their marketed brand names. You can;t please everyone all the time. I made the choice to list them under new names, while clearly indicating the genetic heritage listed (ie GF X BB in lieu of Sweet Tooth 1.1) so anyone, after a little research, could realize they were the exact same seeds. If people don't make the connection, it doesn;t affect the performance of the seedlne. Let me be clear, and for he last time I will address this.....: the Sweetest Sativa now (Dolce Sativa) is in fact the Sweet Blue. The GF X BB are the same stock as the Sweet Tooth 1.1's. SOL are still welcome to purchase these seedlots directly from me, as agreed upon, in substantial amounts. However, it's just not worth it for me to repeatedly provide SOL or their wholesalers these seeds in small lots, at a greatly reduced discount - compared to what I am paid for them by wholesalers and retailers. For the record I just now weighed the bag of GF X BB hybrid seed and there are still about 150 grams of this seed available. I would estimate that there is at least 125 grams of the Sweet Skunk X Blueberry (Dolce) seed. Once they are gone, they are gone, and will never return in this form. Call them what you want, it doesn't matter.... both of these seedlots produce very desirable plants that almost anyone would be thrilled to have them in their garden. Kootenay is a very stand up individual and I wish him all the best with his seed ventures, be it with SOL genetics or with his ample collection of BC and North American elites under the Deluxe label. I know you will see great results from his current lineup, and I suispect you'd see similar if not better results from his future work. I hope it's OK for me to post this in your forum Koot... it just keeps popping up again and again so I thought it would be prudent to have a record of this in your forum to clairfy the confusion. Respectfully, -Chimera

Thank you for setting the record straight as I was going by memory and did not even remember where I read my info. Hope I didn't come off too 'perturbed' with the name thing as I just did not understand the issue the way that you have explained it and found it frustrating. Thanks and sorry if it was a redundant topic only remembered so much.

Thanks for the comments ya'll. I can attest that from the first month and a half of veg, through the first couple weeks of flower, I was indeed very impressed with these gals. Of course It prolly had a lot to do with my added experience using coco + nutes this time, not to mention the added veg time they clearly had.
It is a shame I didn't get to see what these girls were going to do for me, but luckily for the future whether it be a month, or 10 years from now, I still have like 5 seeds left of it, and I look forward to seeing what they bring me! OPT
