Kali Most 2010 grow

I picked up these seeds last year but didn't have time to grow them out until now. Thought I'd post the grow here to add to the others who have grown these genetics. My setup is this:

Cabinet with 250 watt air cooled HPS. The growing area is only about 12"D x 20"W x 22"H so the 250 is pretty intense, I may switch it out to a 150.
Growing medium is soil, nothing special, compost with MG potting mix.
Nutrients will be Fox Farm Grow Big for veg and PBP Bloom for flowering.
My plan is to veg at 18/6 until they're big enough to take cuttings, then flip to 12/12 and keep a mother or 2 from the clones.

I germed the whole 10 pack and only got 7 to pop, not great in my book but I can live with it. 2 germed overnight and the others took a couple days more.

Heres a photo at one week in soil. They are under a 65W CFL just getting water at this point. The 2 that germed first are the tall ones in the back, they are looking like strong growers even at this stage.
Today at 2 weeks I up potted to 6" and moved them up to the 250. It looks like I've got a couple different phenos so I'm looking forward to see how they develop.

Awesome i glad to see some one else pulling there kali's out its a really great strain IMO. 7/10 isnt bad considering you had them put up for a year, and also i believe the original seed stock dates back to 2006, so thats 4 years old . Not to bad IMO.I hope you get a good female ratio. So far for me out 5 seeds ive got 2 fems, and 1 male and two more are still sexing.I would also suggest training to keep your mothers short, because these will stretch like mad. Also if you take a round of clones you can flower right after being rooted and they WILL stretch with zero veg.I think its pretty convenient to have zero veg clones especially if you have perpetual setup, you can get them into flower immediately.Lastly keep your nuts LOW, good luck with grow. I hope you find a winner pheno such as I

Thanks for stopping by Fuzz. Your Kali Most threads were helpful for me when I was trying to find out more about this strain.

The germ rate doesn't bother me, just hoping for a high female ratio so I can get a good sampling. Thanks for the warning about the strech, I'm height impaired in my cabinet so I'll definately be SCROG'n.

I'm actually hoping to get a good mom from the afgan side of these genetics. Been growing a couple of C99 crosses for years and kinda feel like something a bit more skunky. The 2 big ones are growing really fast and they've got these big fat leaves so we'll see what happens.

Seen lots of growth this week. The 2 big ones needed some control so I cut off the tops and put them in the cloner. There are 2 more just about ready for that proceedure but the 3 smaller ones are lagging behind in size. I'm worried about letting the others go too long before I flip to 12/12 so I might need to move the small ones down to the CFL so they can veg a bit longer.

the 7 at 17 days 2 in the cloner

The 2 big ones have some spots and leaf curl that freaked me out at first, cause I really haven't had any deficiency issues in years. I went all through the infirmary section and decided it must be ph cause my soil mix had a lot of peat. Checked the runoff with paper and it looked OK. Checked with a cheap meter I had and it said OK too. Then I remembered seeing that same thing in another thread where someone buried a tall plant, which is what I did to those 2. They aren't getting any worse and the others aren't getting any so I guess all is well.

I have 6 f2 kmost, and mine look like the three in the back right.

I will flower next month outside.

I recommend that you make 20-30 seeds and see what else you find< cause there is a lot of red stem and vein traits that have appeared for me

Thanks for the advice Mr. A. I was toying with the idea of making some seeds with this run. I've got 2 very different phenos and some f2's might be interesting.

The leaves on the 3 in the back are showing the sativa dominance even at this stage. The other 4 have fat leaves like their indica heritage but with larger internodes like a sativa, and they're growing like crazy. I'm worried about them taking over my little cabinet real quickly, I had to LST them yesterday. 2 of the sativa's are almost ready to clone so I'll be able to flip pretty soon.

17 days 12/12

Been a while so it's time for an update.

The plants were stretching like crazy and I had to take a trip so I flipped to 12/12 after 22 days from seed. The stretching continued and I started seeing sex after about a week. Unfortunately, they were all growing balls at first. The big ones showed balls first and the others kept growing balls until finally I had one female. The last to show female was today. 5 males and 2 females.

I culled the males and tied the females into pretzels to control the stretch.

Finally, I uppotted the girls to 3 gallon grow sacks today at 17 days 12/12.
Still have the clones going. Almost lost them when things got too hot last week but they'll survive. Potted the biggest male since he outgrew the cloner. Haven't decided if I'm going to keep mothers or fathers out of this run but keeping my options open.

actually I had the wrong photo for today in that last post.
This is the girls in their new grow bags.

I set the screen so I can start training. There is a lot of space to fill so hopefully they'll keep stretching now that they have more root zone.
