Getting a Michigan Medical Liscense & then Moving to Onario - Will it transfer?

Hey everyone,
Next year I am moving to Ontario and am wondering if my medical liscense would transfer.

I am not a canadian citizen so from what I understand it will be incredibly hard if not impossible for me to get a MMJ card until I become a citizen.
If I am legal in Michigan will this help the process or will it transfer over?

Thanks ic!

With my limited experience moving from CA to TX, I don't think it will transfer. In fact I promise you it won't transfer. Every state (and country) has different standards for licensing MMJ.

Good luck though! Ontario is pretty liberal, I wouldn't be surprised if you found a doc there that would help you out.

Michigan allows the transfer of out of state mmj cards TO their state. No idea otherwise....

The problem is that I won't be a canadian resident making it harder to get the liscense..
If anyone from Ontario has any advice on that it would be greatly appreciated

I can tell you with 100% certainty.. NO it will not transfer becuase Amercian federal or state law does not apply in Canada.

It does not prevent you from applying for your Canadian exemption if you are a landed immigrant. Again... landed immigrant. You need to have legal status.

Alright.. Thanks for clearing that up!

What do you mean by a landed immigrant? I will be in Canada on a student visa and will be going to University full time in Ontario. Is this good enough?
Any more advice?

Hmmm... You will have to check the regulations on student visas as they are not requests for pernament residence in Canada from an immigrant (landed immigrant)

Here is the link: https://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/marihuana/index-eng.php

I suggest you read it very carefully.

peace brother

WOO!
I just called health canada (why don't I just call more often..?) and found out that you do NOT have to be a permanent resident of Canada. As long as I am a resident living in Canada I can apply.
Now I just need a doctor to sign for me!
