Hi friends,

I'll be gone for a while over the next few weeks, so I won't be on ICM much over the next month. I recieved an emergency call from an ER room in phoenix on Thanksgiving. My Father has had a stroke.

His neighbors found him on thanksgiving. He had been on the floor for 2 days. I'm not sure of the total damage, he has many more tests to go through, but he is paralyzed on his right side and has very bad memory loss.
My heart is breaking so bad. I didn't expect the next time I saw my father it would be like this. I was planning a trip out there in March.

My dad is pretty much a loner, and doesn't chum much with the neighbors, but fortunately they were worried about him and went checking.
He's been out there for over 30 years, and I unfortunately, I haven't seen him in about 10years. I'm really the only one he has. He has family here, but they are all in their upper 80's and 90's and not much they can do you know.
His brother goes out every dec, but he's not leaving until dec 6th. He'll be helping me with the legal things when he gets there.

I will be leaving this coming Tuesday for about 2 weeks. I need to go there and get his affairs in order and take care of things. He'll be in rehabilitation for a few months and will probably never walk again, or even live alone again. I need to get his apartment packed up and ship some things back home here. I have a million things to do before and during my stay, and I know I don't get on ICM everyday, but I wanted to let those who I do chat with know I haven't deserted them.

So, I hope everyone has had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I'll come and post just as soon as I can. I won't have internet while I'm out there unless I drop by a library or something.
