This last weekend brought long lines and happy faces to the first-ever High Times Medical Cannabis Cup to San Francisco. Held in the Terra Gallery and Events Center on Harrison Street (SOMA), a great time was had by all who enjoyed two days of beautifully sunny weather and happy vibes.



However there were the usual snafus getting started as massive crowds arrived to get into the expo center on Saturday morning. It took several hours to get all the folks in to the center itself. The police were called for crowd control, but it was a peaceful incident with no arrests reported.



Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20, were especially happy for some of the vendors. Organizers recognized the need for cannabis vending on-site to qualified medical patients. Cooperatives, Collectives and Dispensaries that entered the cup also were allowed to utilize booth space as temporary vending sites. Business was brisk to say the least, with at least one booth completely selling out their special strain which was entered into the competition.



Sunday evening was the Award Ceremony, which was anxiously attended by all entrants and their supporters. Lots of cheering and hollering greeted the winners as they were presented with High Times Cups, and it was a good party.

It truly was a great time shared with many great people. It was amazing to meet and smoke with people that I had admired for so long.

The venue was a bit small but allowed for a much more intimate experience. Though due to the relatively small size of the venue there were many turned away sadly. I have a feeling next year's cup will be even better as there will be much more time to prepare for everything and have a much better guesstimate of what attendance will be like.

All and all, I had an incredible time and really cant wait for next years cup! Payaso and Skip it was certainly nice to meet you guys as well. Look forward to seein' you all there next years cup!

God's pussy? Really Greenbicycles that's the best you can come up with? Whoever's job it is to name new strains needs to be fired over there. I'm 100% pro cannabis but come on folks, can we really expect "mainstream" people to get onboard this train when we are naming our herb stuff like this? I dunno maybe I'm just overreacting or something but it really does seem overboard to call your cannabis something that is out right imflammatory to a lot of people.
