This was taken with an olympus sp310 (ebay cost today around $25) with a macro extension tube and macro lens ( combined ebay cost around $30, the macro lense is one of those wide angle lenses with built in macro) so a total of $55
![]() but to get that shot I had to set up the camera on a tripod and use a flouro lamp aimed perfectly. This on the other hand was hand held leaning over the plant with the orange hps glaring in my face. I used an olympus sp550 for this (ebay price around $90 second hand) but nothing added I had to drop the F to 3.5 in order to keep the shutter speed high enough to cancel out the shake of my hand but I did keep the iso to 50 to keep the image quality. I'm thinking of upgrading to an olympus P1 but the cost of lenses is crazy. I may just go for an SP800 but some of the reviews are dodgey. Not realy sure on which option to take yet, but for small budgets there are good cameras to be had. |

i use a cannon powershot, its unbeatable for the price.
nikon coolpix, or similar caliber panasonic are also great for the money. 200-300$ can get you a really great snapper. it's not a "pro" camera, but it works for me... and takes excellent high res pics. |

Canon digital IXUS 70 is a good camera for macros and it should be not so expensive. It has a function called ''digital macro'' zooming from 1X to 4X
