my mother plants were just topped to about 5" so its going to be a couple months before i have rooted clones from them.
this is in the mean time, and i'm just curious if i'd be able to get 18 cuts from a shop with 2 patients to my name. |

to clarify:
me + 2 patients = legal right to 9 plants in veg and 9 in flower (18 total) would it be legal for me to have all 18 plants in veg with none in flower? |

That's the kicker right there! ;-) btw, asked this question of an attny a while back... 6 per for 'total' plant counts (3x6@18). This can be all veg w/o issue. The flower max is 3 per, or the 9, which will then also come off of your 'total' plant count numbers... reducing the veg totals from 18 down to 9 once you flip the others. At the very least, this is how a couple of lawyers have explained it to me. You should be cool, but it is no guarantee that the cops will be 'reasonable' once in your place...??? |

Yes you are allowed to have all 18 plants in veg. The reason for the 3/3 restriction is to keep you from having more than half of your total plants in flower where they can produce usable meds. Dispensaries will totally sell you 18 clones if you show them 3 licenses, nobody will give you any shit guaranteed. This is in no way a gray area I don't know what people are talking about.

Actually the law says nothing of flowering plants. It says "mature" plants, and they define "mature" as 12" or more, no matter what cycle of life they are in. Cops don't know the difference, if its got a 5 leaf pattern on it, its smokeable to them! So technically, you can have 9 babies, and 9 mothers, or however, but I don't think anyone cares....

Yea I def. wouldn't trust cops to decipher what stage my plants are in.
![]() I also wondered about veg. numbers, esp. when you are just starting out...How are you sup. to start from seeds? Or take clones? Or keep moms? Gurrr. I just really hate that veg. limit! I am ok w/ 3 in flower, (ok, yes, ideally I'd like to have more, of course), but I just think 3 veg. seems so unreasonable; it keeps pts. going back to dispensaries to buy clones, instead of keeping mom's or starting some seeds. Of course, on the other hand.... 3 > 0. ![]() ...So yea, guess I am just thankful for those 3, lol.
