Jiu-Jitsu Anyone?

I always felt akward smoking a bowl before going to jiu-jitsu but it just felt like it made my technique absorption so much more in tune. I slow down and pay attention more to what I'm doing, and more importantly, what the other guy is doing as well as bein calm and collected which means I don't gas out as easy. Then I found Eddie Bravo, bought his book "Mastering the Rubberguard" and it changed my life. It talks about how cannabis helped him develope his whole style of jiu-jitsu, which has revolutionized BJJ and MMA a like. Anyone else train high?

I shared a vagrant optimism that some of us were making real progress, that we had taken an honest road, and that the best of us would inevitably make it over the top. At the same time, I shared a dark suspicion that the life we were leading was a lost cause, that we were all actors, kidding ourselves along on a senseless odyssey. It was the tension between these two poles- a restless idealism on one hand and a sense of impending doom on the other- that kept me going" - Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary

I know guys who roll when high, but it's not for me. Been training and smoking for over 25 years, but don't combine the two.

I found it helpful when training sensitivity exercises in wing chun (sticking hands etc), as it's all about 'feel.' My structure in general was way better high, as I was so relaxed and grounded.

I found it a hindrance for the striking side of things. Just made me too slow/poor reaction speed.

Been doing bjj and thai boxing high for five years now. Ive found that for free rolling being stoned is no problem and can even help creativity but for group classes you aren't as sharp with technique, the question of whether or not to hit the vapobong before drastically depends on your school too. If I wasn't at a gym with a very progressive chill attitude and a younger male blackbelt, (who even plays nas from time to time) I might reconsider. I've been with alot of gyms and there's always going to be those few who are there for "traditional" methodical/discipline martial arts values and would most likely frown upon it and possibly call you out. I cant imagine bjj without chronic for recovery because I get so many aches and sprains and tear random things all the time.
