How do you fell about med pot licenses? Do the hinder total legalization? - Canada - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

I'm sort of torn by the whole idea of med pot. I know a lot of us out there need this medicine, it just pisses me of that have to go hat in hand and beg to legally grow something that helps us live our lives without pain. Its our bodies and minds, not the states. The state must serve the individual not the other way around. And its a plant for goodness sake!! I dont need permission to grow lettuce, yet.
I think that licensing med pot is a step backwards for total legalization. Its the beginning of a dangerous trend. On the one hand they defuse the issue by throwing us a bone. A pacifier of sorts. A license to use pot as medicine, "Oh thank you so much, now can I lick your nuts?"
On the other hand they are setting the stage for something more sinister legalization with state intervention, like licensing limits on where and how much you can grow, or who can grow.
How do you fell about this? I say stick your friggen licence, I'll grow my own medicine,thanks. .

Totaly D, U GOT IT man , Im in the process of trying to get my medical license right now and you just have to stick to your guns and remember who is the boss.
These docs are programed to up the dosage, more pills, muscle relacsents, pain killers, but god forbid you try to be healthy and self medicate, using medical cannabis.
I will be heading to the doc , again tommorow , just gotta keep trying, and not be bullied by non-compliant docs. keep u posted on my struggle. TS

Good luck Teemu, hope you get what you need. Dmt I agree with you in that the elites would like to keep us unconsious, although we do a dam good job at that ourselves. We throw our hands up and say, hey what can I do.
I'm a union man, and have fought many battles with managment, which is a good parallel to med users and government. During hard negotiations they would always throw crumps on the table, and a few would always want to take the bait, the easy way out, but usually if we held strong we got what we wanted.

I'm happy to have my lic.... takes away all the paranoia, and makes it easy to be fully "out and proud". In my estimation the single biggest thing that will make a difference towards normalization of Cannabis is, every smoker standing-up without shame, and daring everyone else to understand. How can "normal" people ever look at us without shame, if we cannot do the same!!!!!

Ya very good point. But on the other hand the general consensus among straight folk, I work with more than a few, LOL, is that med licensees are playing the system so they can smoke and grow with out legal consequences. This does nothing for acceptability of cannabis in the larger community.

Ya I sort of agree, their not dipshits, perhaps uninformed would be a kinder term. But that is a very prevalent view.
And you cant honestly tell me you dont know licensees that have exaggerated their symptom or outright lied to get their exemption?

What really advances legalization is when you have high functioning individuals promoting the cause, like the late Pierre Burton.
