Hey Justa.....so sorry but I think this thread kept getting pushed down when other threads were posted in...looks to have gotten by me.
I know C02 from a scientific standpoint as it pertains to growing....but not from a practical one, so I can't give you any first-hand knowledge, other than what I've seen from others using it....my knowledge is more of what I'd call book learned knowledge. I know plenty of growers who use C02, it's just something I never implemented into any of my grows. ![]() Was the basis of your question due to you considering it's use in your garden? ![]() DG |

Hi DG, yeah I was considering giving it a shot. Always looking to get better..grow more. I have never seen it in a comercial set up. Typically it's in a small grow in someones closet...but I haven't seen that many comercial grows either. If u haven't used it then I'm going to pass...
Part of it is the mad scientest in me anyhow... Btw typing on a iPhone...sucks after a while..

Hey Justa,
![]() I saw this post a while ago and was going to say something, but your question was directly aimed at DG. Now that she has answered I thought I would put for my ![]() IMOE CO2 worked great when I could not cool my room due to ac problems. I looked into how much a new roller would cost and it was cost comparative (also during middle of summer when ac's are diff to find) vs an acct at a bev. place and a reg and hoses. I have read that co2 does nothing until 85 degree temps. I bought a timer and a reg and some fish tank tubing and it worked great for me. I had the timer set to go off every 15 minutes for 5 minutes and my reg set to 3.5. One of the best damned harvests I pulled down; while running in 90 deg temps. I do not know what you consider commercial around here, but I run 4 k's in flower(not multiple rooms like DG) and it worked great for me. Actually just gave me an idea, I think I will dig up that regulator and go get me a tank bro! ![]() Thanks for the idea...save me $$$ on electricity! To reiterate, I have read in the past that co2 is useless with temps below 85......

I also flower with co2 and 3 1K vertizontals and one thing I've learned is without a controller to keep the co2 from fluctating you'd be lucky to get average results.I grew with a propane burner and a cyclestat timer for some time but didnt see any great results, the cyclestat controls frequency and duration of burn.Sounds good but its useless because of the fluctuation in co2 levels. You dont want more than a 2-300PPM swing for the entire 12 hours. The cyclestat doesnt take into account the number of plants or what stage they are in.If you are going to use co2 enrichment make sure to use a controller. My yield did increase in weight 25-30% when I finally figured it all out.RAE systems sells co2 testers if you're wondering about fluctuation.Thats how I found out how off my room was.Its the difference between pretty plants that dont lean much to plants that are falling all over each other at 40 days because of the weight

Justin, Spark, thanks!
My environment is not a closed system. So....I might be just wasting Co2. I’ve got the temp issue dialed in right now and it rarely gets over 77 degrees in my flower room. Looks like that temp is too low anyway. In the winter I could use a heater but in the summer the excess heat would kill me. 25% more production is a BIG boost.... I need to test the current amount and then check the air flow.... Again, thanks everyone!

People dont really mean hermetically sealed when they talk about sealed rooms.Mine is an 8 by 8 room with a doorguard flap on the bottom of the door, thats sealed to me.Thats another advantage of using a controller you can see in real time how much co2 you are losing and possibly make adjustments. This is what I use in my 8 by 8 with 3 1K's.A 12,000 BTU window unit,a 45 pint dehumidifier,3 1K vertizontals,a cd-6 green air propane burner and a cap-PPM-3 controller.Thats about all I have to work with but its enough to get great results

I’m definitely not sealed. 12x15 room with 2 inline fans pumping heat out of the room all the time, 1 main heating and cooling unit that regulates temp and that’s vented out also, and no formal doors either. Although the room is set for complete darkness there is still open ends that lead to stairwells....so, it would be very hard to control the Co2. I have thought about running tubing with holes in it over the tops of the plants along the ceiling..or even in front of one of my circulating fans.
I saw a new product called “green pads” or something like that. Thought about hanging them in my vegg areas but then whats the point of doing that?

I had really good results with co2 with a simple short event timer hooked up to it and my temps rarely even reached 80 degrees during flower

I do not think that my room was totally sealed either. But my temps were brutal. I took clear fish tank hose and made a 4ft wide by 6 ft long t. Attached it to my reg then hung it over the plants and used a large needle and made holes. It worked great....at 77 degrees (from what I have read) I do not think that it will help you, nor harm you.
