My advice, girlfriends are meant to be ignored. Keep talking like that and she'll be your "girlfriend" instead of your girlfriend.

damn, that's gotta hurt!
my story pales in comparison, but it was a stoner moment so i guess it belongs here. I was smokin out in the woods on top of a huge levee the other night. This was in the middle of the night after quite a few drinks, mind you. Anyway I'd been chillin and playing guitar with my friend for awhile and felt like moving around so I decided I was gonna go to the bottom of the levee and come back up. I must have smoked more than I thought b/c my depth perception was wayy off. The downslope was a lot steeper than I thought and the footing was terrible. I started at a walking pace kinda hopping around to keep my balance and after some limited success I decided to try it at full speed. Big mistake. It was really cool at first, kinda like when you're riding a horse and it starts galloping way faster than you'd have anticipated. I quickly realized I didn't have any way to slow down and I was going much faster than I could keep up with balance-wise. Long story short, now I have scrapes and bruises running all over the sides and front of my body looking like I met up with a biker gang under the wrong circumstances. Note to self: running full speed down hills is fun when you're a kid, but not when you're an adult stoned outta your mind. It seems like it would be, but no. |

that only happens to other people lol.
i fell and ground my way to a halt from 40mph on a motorcycle. chewed through the leather and ground down my elbow somewhat. took five or six years for the sensitivity to go away... now, even when i skate, i wear the pads. the trick is landing on them... |

yeah thats why i avoid motorcycles, long boarding, and standing on car roofs while driving, too easy to fall and once you do you're generally f'd!

I tell everyone that rides anything the same thing.
If you knew you were going to crash out riding today, what would you wear? They say of course, boots, skid jacket and pants, helmet, drag gloves. I then tell them that is what they should wear everytime they go out, because sooner or later, you will crash. Ask any long term rider(boards, bikes, etc..) what their worst wreck was, almost never do they say they haven't had one. Instead, they say "Oh man, this one time....." Dressing properly can make a big difference. Twice I've taken long slides on the road. Dressed for it- My ass and legs got really hot from the friction of sliding so far in the street. Not dressed for it, broke my wrist, and razzed both arms, and my back from hips to shoulders, It turned into one giant back scab like a turtle shell, lol. I don't ride anything anymore, the ground hurts. |

road rash sucks!
i took a dump/slide due to a drunk pulling swerving right out in front of me. It was either lay it down or eat steel and glass. I tore up my: arms, wrists, legs and backside. i destroyed my left knee, which will be screwed up for life. |

$900 riding suit
$400 helmet $300 boots $100 gloves ride for the fall on a motorcycle, i have known riders who watched gravel as it destroyed their face shield 1 1/2 inches from their eyes... haven't seen too many boarders with pads or helmet on the street... roadrash is very similar to a burn. easy to get infected and long time healing. good luck to you |
