Hi! Betterhaff,,el oro de ecuador(capsicum baccatum) this is a strange fruity taste and the heat is very pleasant maybe too too for the inexperienced,she is strong enough,for people who have little tolerance.

here is rocoto manzano red (capsicum pubescens)

Cool. I grew rocotos for years, they were difficult in setting fruit, had to help with a little hand pollination. But definitely a favorite pepper of mine. For a thick walled pepper they dried well and then I stored in jars and used like a spice. I think the difficulty I had with them was because of the climate here and being in the northern hemisphere. Are you in the southern?

I live in Central Europe by the Czech Republic.
rocoto Less blooming and not making fruits at temperatures higher than 27 ° C. They do not like tropical weather. At high temperature they like to refresh with water mist. They like morning red.

Beautiful! Made some salsa with all garden ingredients for a faculty event tomorrow. Has some kick and back fire! Not anything compared to ghost peppers...I'd be fired! Love peppers!

Recall buying jars of Sambal Badjak from the Netherlands to bring home. I can find Oelek, but not Badjack. Fun memories, dining on rijsttafe around the 'Dam, Zandvoort, Scheveningen. Mmmm!
