as I have said, I overwinter many of my peppers in my garden room- cut em back in the winter, and they get a def head start over seeds- now they are outside, and big.. but its lots of leaf growth, but few..very few flowers...the only ferts I have been giving them is Alaska fish ferts, and some coffee grinds... maybe I should bump up the ferts with just a small amount of N??
another poss why no flowers is that the weather has been unseasonably cool and rainy ... it is just now starting to get warm... in the 80's... and peppers, espec eggplants luv hot weather |

The overwintering may play with their hormones a bit. I would say make sure they got enaugh macro and micronutrients and they should make lots of flowers when time comes. May be a bit later then seed ones, but a big healthy plant can also mature the pods faster if given a good environment. So you should be ok. I've had overwintered plants and they always produced more than first year.

I think heat plays a big part in pepper flowering and fruit setting. Here's my tabasco pepper last week.
I started to see a few orange ones a couple of days ago. Some clones I took from that bush are out side, and I just started seeing fruit. It's been in the mid to high 80's. In the green house, last time I checked, in late April it was getting over 120°. |
