Thumbs up Zombie Twin seedling ?

Hey all,

I swear that I must have been phsychic while I awoke because I just knew that my cups of dirt would finally have proof of life with the arrival of many newborns.

I germinated all seeds in the dirt just as nature designed. So I had no clue about the taproots of my seeds. I was very pleased that several of my babies have decided to pull their heads out of the dirt. Pretty even race - or so I thought..

Four Zombie and Four AK and 7 Dirt.

Wait one of those Zombie's aren't looking like the rest. Reminded me of Sesame Street. One of them has 2 sets of Cotyledons.. "the round set of starter "leaves"". Odd, and the after closer inspection I realized that there were almost no differences at all in either new seedling. Twins! Right?

I admit I lost a bean somewhere before even getting my cups to the box. Although, This must be a twin because of all the details are the same. Both stems go exactly to same origination point, and it popped at the same time and they are identical. So, I am thinking that it must be a twin.

Does anyone know about twin seedlings, and how to handle them? I've a lot to learn and would appreciate anyone's advice. Thanks.

Peace.

Okay all doubt is now removed as to whether it was 2 seeds or it's a twin seedling. I just found my missing bean - unfortunately the husk was well cracked with a taproot and the Cotyledons showing. It was like a Yin Yan from the start to finish.

This bean was found in the cup of my first bean to sprout. Who knows what that weird bean will do or if it's dead. I am too cheap to chuck it so I replanted and watered.. If it pop's cool.

More cool is that I'm 100% certain that this twin/siamese seedling did in fact pop from one seed. I have looked into the phenomenon during germ. with all horticulture and apparently it's not highly common but it does happen. Many opinions out there. Some people say kill the weaker twin, while others' encourage the growth of both.

I am going to let it grow - I just don't want to murder the herb. It's a great way to start my growing career.

Any feedback on your opinion regarding twins is appreciated.

Peace.

oh that is not good news at all; although, if it means that one is guaranteed female - at least I can count on the female. I didn't buy Feminized. So I already know that I will have to sex my garden. Should be interesting and I most likely will post some pics - I've never taken any of my little grows to 12/12. I would hate to mess this up. Thanks
