New grower starting in a couple days with alot of questions to post throughout! - New Growers - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

I am going to be buying my seeds in about 2 or 3 days and im looking for someone to follow and help me out in the process because I admit I am a complete newbie. I have been reading fourms for about the past week and still have some questions and I know alot will come up. i have 4 ft light tubes for the veg stage and a 150W HPS grow light for flowering. I will be starting to create my box within the next few weeks and I am planning on growing 3 to 4 plants in the box. How do i Determine the size of the box needed to house these plants? should I create a over sized box and move the plants closer to the light to alow for growing? or should I use the SCROG method? with the SCROG method should only one plant be in the box at a time because it grows out more then up? also i dont know that the 150W light will be enough and dont know if i can currently afford to purchase a new one..... am I able to use the 150W HPS light as well as CFL lighting in my box will the increase the yeild that I will produce from the plants?

Thats currently all the questions that are coming to my head but im sure there will be more and I will be planning on starting a journal in the next few days and will post the link onto this fourm

yes make your box bigger and move the light/plants, the extra height is there if you need it then. how tall can you make it ? 30-50cm tall isnt really enough, 60-90cm is far better.
150w hps is a good flowering light and extra cfls at the edges where growth is less will help.
just beware, if using seeds, that you do not train a male through your screen, you will be seriously pissed if you do that.
best i can think of is to put them on 12/12 after 2 weeks and after they show sex, put them back on 24/0 or whatever you like to veg on. do you have 2 areas one for veg and flower or a shared cab ? you could take cuttings then and never have to worry about males again.

I have a fairly decent sized room and I am able to make the box as big as prolly 3 ft by 3 ft by 6 ft. I do have two different places for flowering and veg. I plan on using a long rubermain tote or just my open closet for the veg and the box that I am building for the flowering. I have read and completely understand why the males are No good and I do plan on keeping a mother plant in my room under constant light so I wont have to deal with the seeds again untill I plant to switch strains. how many CFL light do you suggest I use and should they be at the same height as the HPS?
