clone killer strikes again
I read and reread the cloning posts and the MJ bible and I try and try and keep killing clones.
Light or no light? How much humidity?-do plastic bags work or only "humidity domes?? Keep soil/cube wet but not soggy? (how do you know its soggy?) Wet leaves and let cube dry? It really is not easy to keep a clone alive. |

yes, I'm about to do that, but everyone says "keep trying" (I am having nightmares about murdering clones). It reminds me of so many things in life where you need to find just
the right "balance" (like riding a bike, or hitting a tennis ball just right). Thanks.... |

Dude, get an EZ cloner. I just transferred my latest batch (my fourth, so it's not like I'm a veteran or anything...) and got 30 out of 30..100%.
I learned here, BTW. So thanks to all that post here!!! Sanitation is everything IMHO; with an EZ cloner that is. Before you take cuttings, run the machine with all the parts in it for a few hours, no plants- use a water and hydrogen peroxide mix. Take it apart and scrub the plugs and anything else you can see that looks like it shouldn't be there. Flush it good, then your ready. Me thinks they like light...they are plants afterall. Not too much of course just a flouro about a foot away. They say you don't need humidity with an EZ cloner, but I run a humidifier in my clone/veg room to be safe. Wean them of humidity after they have rooted and are in veg. I use 2.5 ML per gallon M-G-B in the water at 5.8 ph. Of course, put a small fan nearby to keep the air fresh I just threw away 20 babies because I only needed 10 of them. It's a little heartbreaking really. Nice problem to have |

I've yet to lose a clone and I dont even try. Stop trying so hard, try dfferent mediums, my first time cloning I just took the cuttings, put em in a cup of water overnight, the next day I put a drop of superthrive in the water and ket it sit for a minute or two. Then I just put the cuttings straight into 50% Soil 50% Perlite. Now I'm useing rockwool, still like useing the soil method better really.

When I've had trouble with clones, it was because of too much light intensity. I was using a 150w cfl, and had the clone tray too close. When I moved them a couple of feet from the light, they did great.
Just my .02. Good luck slmndl

Seed Buyers Beware! Don't waste your money on hype. If you have to buy multiple seed packs to find that "keeper", you're getting ripped off. Every female in a pack of seeds should be a keeper! We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package. |

1 40 watt cfl is good for a tray of 6-8 small clones starting out. And I lied, I lost my first clone last night, so sad. Back to trying, yeah, gro dan, I dont follow those directions either. I've done side by side tests, seriously I've had better resluts with quick soaks and NOT adjusting the Ph, then just popping the cuuting in there, almost no shock compared to letting the gro dan soak and Ph ing it, much more shock that way, weird.
