Thanks Bud Bug, that's excellent advice! I think I'll be alright numbers wise with 1500. I think I may even be outnumbering the spider mites. I suppose I'll probably try and keep some of them to prevent another outbreak like this.

Hey Bud Bug...I use neem oil with an organic soap (for sticky) while in veg...this works great but in my flower room I cannot use neem. Can I use this pyrethrin in flower? I do not want burnt leaves so I will not even ask about the bombs. This was all I could find for a reference right now. is this what you are talking about? If so, how far away in my room should I have this? I run 4k hps in flower. Thanks in advance. https://www.discount-hydro.com/search.php

Just a note about 'Growing Edge' magazine - this publication is out of Corvallis, Oregon by Tom Alexander Tom was the original editor/publisher of a magazine back in the late 1980's known as 'Sinsimelia Tips' which was published 4 times per year. It made 'High Times' the joke that they continued. Tom had a store in Corvallis known as 'Full Moon Garden Center' which morphed into 'Full Moon Publishing' that is the name of the publisher for 'Growing Edge' magazine. If it weren't for 'Black Thursday' and the brutal aftermath, his magazine would have eventually buried 'High Times' - no contest. CC

I haven't had any noticeable taste or smell in my harvested and cured crop. After the 4th week, other than getting your shop vac and adapting a way to pinpoint (straw or pen) the suction, I know of no way to put anything on the plants that you won't taste/smell...just my .04 cents (inflation & taxes)

I had a spider mite issue a few months ago. I got predatory neematodes and started spraying the plants with neem oil every three days. Also I cleaned my vegt and flowering cab with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and bleach. After a few weeks it cleared up. I still sray my plants once a week at the most as a precautionary measure. I haven't had them come back. When I am composting my old soil mix at the end of a grow, I add a new batch of predatory neematodes in about a week before I use the mix. This seems to have taken care of things.
My mite problem was bad enough that I started seeing those purple webs appearing.

I was wondering how hard it would be to grow neem and it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. Check it out:
https://www.discoverneem.com/how-to-grow-neem-trees.html https://www.horizonherbs.com/product.asp?specific=613 Neem (Azadirachta indica) seeds--to be delivered in season J-N Neem (Azadirachta indica ) Please sow in a very warm place as soon as possible after reciept. Germination is in about 3 weeks. Once the seedlings germinate, keep warm, in the sun, and allow soil surface to dry out between waterings--overwatering neem, which grows best in drylands, is not a good idea. Plant prefers full sun to part shade, dry soils, and will withstand short periods of cold down to 23 degrees F. Flowers bisexual--sweet scented, colored cream. Open Pollinated 10 seeds/pkt. Product Details: (sku:PNEEM) Your Price: $9.95 (per Packet)
