moving plants outside

Im growing a handful of plants under a 150w hps (they are a couple weeks into flower). On sunny days when I am going to be home to care for them, I move them into the back yard for some good old mother nature light. My question is, would it be more beneficial on a cloudy day to still move them outside, or would the hps be more beneficial on days with less than full sun? Just curious as to everyone's thoughts.

thanks

It would be better to leave them inside period. When you put them outside you expose them to all kinds of pest and pathogens that you could be bringing back into your grow room,

I was a bit worried about pests, but figured that it was worth taking a chance on since the quality and quantity of my bud would be greatly increased due to the regular substitution of natural sunlight vs my tiny little 150w hps. I was just curious at what sort of cloud cover I would stop seeing the positives of moving them outside.

EXACTLY..if you want to move something outside, move it; and leave it. Aphids, mites, mold...oh man.

Yes never bring plants of any kind indoors when you have cannabis plants indoors. The results can be devestating.
An infestation of plant pests can cost you your complete harvest and the need to insecticide the complete grow room thus having to start again.
It happened to me with spider mites and it set me back 4-5 months and lots of money to rectify the situation.

You can move them to a shaded area when your home to care for them. I'd clean up the area a bit though.
Depending on how young they are. I wouldn't move them outside too early.
However if your planning on flowering indoors, I'd just leave them inside.

Well I'm going to disagree with all these scaredy cats. Plenty of people grow outside without issue and as you have mentioned, the light is a lot more than a 150w hps, lol. I used to take many plants inside and out daily. I got some kind of mites once indoors on baby pants and I cured that by putting them outside. Mother nature is not as bad as everyone is making out here. It's a great system. Anyway to answer your question, I'd say leave them inside if it's a really dark day. I think UV penetrates cloud fairly well, but not the rest, hence the darkness.

After you see plants explosion after a few days of full sun you'll never come back Keep them indoor if the weather is cloudy.

Peace

exactly what I was thinking in regards to "really dark" cloud cover. I just cant see sticking with my 150 when i can easily move them outdoors and take advantage of the sun. I have however (thanks to the first couple posters) made a little contraption out of a storage tub, some window screen, and some flat white paint, to help protect my girls on the days that I am able to move them outside to the porch....we will see if it protects them while they catch some rays.....thanks

You are inviting bugs indoors that way and you will be very lucky if you dont have any problems.
