Hey peeps,

I started my my bog babies 2 months ago. I even got the superbog pheno. All were male!! Well.Igot 4 more in the fridge. To all the experienced growers out there- do you think that gender is predetermined or is it caused envirionmental issues( temp, humidity, higher nitrogen etc etc)?

males suck when you get all males but in reality most seeds tend to produce about 50% males and females. There are some factors that do affect rates however and I don't know much but I will share what I have heard and believe myself based on my experiences also.

Higher nitrogen is supposed to increase F ratios but is that when I make the seeds or when you grow the plants. Not sure but in my experience higher nitrogen in early veg has little effect. Perhaps the level of nitrogen when the seeds are made does matter however. That doesn't help the grower much.

Another factor is time in veg. Often small scale indoor growers push plants into flowering very young. This like any stressor can increase male % as can too much heat stress, over-drying and perhaps even overwatering.

There is a product called Sensa-soak that you can germinate seeds in to increase the % of females. I think it works by stunting males or killing them but it can save time if you are frustrated with m/f seed and your luck.

If you get a lot more males rest assurred that I will replace your seeds and accept my apology for my inability to sort the seeds better. I just cant tell their sex as seeds either. BOG

Thanks for the reply BOG! I am sure out of the remaining 4 seeds left, there's got to be a female in there! I just hope since I am a newbie, That I did't stress them out too much!

Wow BOG that is very generous of you, but I still have 4 more seeds in the fridge, so you don't have to send me freebies, it's not your fault, I really have a feeling I turned them male, my PH meter was off so I had them in PH 4 water for a long time, I also didn't feed them correctly and the temperature was way too high! well I learn and I am sure the remaining seeds are female! But its very refreshing to see a breeder with so much pride in your work!

I found two males last night in my LSD, Boo! No, I was just upset that the only two Diesel phenos were male, the other three Lifesaver phenos have not shown sex yet, and one livesaver pheno showing one tiny hair! I am not discouraged right now because I have 3 more vegging right now, and then 3 more beans to try. I think if anything I did wrong was flower too early, garden was getting low, so flowered six and vegging three more to mature.

Hey Bog I was checking out the strain guide at OG and almost all who tried bogbubble gave it a 9 or 10 for potency!!!!!!!!!!!!! On second thought to turn down twice as many seeds as I ordered, I must've been out of my mind!! Is the offer still good? I really want to try out the bogbubble!
