Hallo alle,
I'm new here, and although I can speak relativ Ok Deutsch, I prefer not shocking you with some of my silly grammar mistakes.

I'm moving to Düsseldorf for a year starting August, and I just wanted to know what the pot market there is like, where I can hope to get some, or if anyone has a good contact. I'm not a very regular smoker but I do enjoy the occasional spliff from time to time!

And also, how strict are the police about cannabis?

Hope you don't mind.. but that city is really close to amsterdam, so you could make a daytrip there from time to time. I've stayed in that area at a friend and amsterdam was like 2 hours apart..

Although, I must admit I dont puff enough to take a whole day... When I buy pot its usually not more than 1 - 2g :P

I've done it a couple of times and went ok. Just use a normal car registered somewhere near holland.. and just act normal.

i would suggest you to also take a look at citys like venlo or nijmwegen,
which are closer to d´dorf then a´dam(especially when you just need
to buy a few grams).
you can take the train,for example,from düsseldorf main
station and arrive in venlo just an hour
or so (i dunno exactly,i always got on the train a couple stations after d´dorf)
later.
but as explosiv mentioned,taking the car would be a lot better.(faster and safer)
admittedly i wasn´t in holland for a time,but back then,when i travelled
there,i mainly took the train(two or three times a week)and figured out,
that every third or fourth trip you have the german customs,the federal
police,or even kriminalpolizei in zivil(dunno the proper translation sry)
travelling with you and also perhaps bothering you.
taking the car is much more safe,but also risky,cos you might be getting tested
for drug use,when the cops are in the mood to.and that´s more likely when they
control you while you are travelling by car.
on the train that is possible too,but not as likely.nevertheless it would be better
to leave your drivers license at home,
when you decided to go by train.
on the other hand when you go by car and maybe wait until someone in a
very pimped car at best from the ruhrgebiet is driving five minutes or so infront
of you over the border,you can be quite sure,that this guy will be pulled out
instead of you.

btw düsseldorf is quite nice and also big (at least compared to my home town wich
is quite small and very filthy)
so they even have a grow shop ,which is zwar klein aber fein

yeah venlo is good. I've beet there. most big towns have coffeshops also..

I'd reckommend Arnhem though, not Venlo. Venlo's coffeeshops are overpriced, and more tourist traps.
Arnhem is a bit bigger and has nice shops, aswell as a cool market on saturdays. I think that'd be a better choice for you, cause there's more to do after you've bought your weed, seing as you're not heavyweight stoner.

will dir nicht direkt widersprechen,hast ja im grunde recht,aber afaik
brauchst du für drei(bis vier) der vier(bis fünf) überhaupt erwähnens-
werten shops in venlo eine mitgliedskarte.
als tourist wirst du also erstmal probs haben überhaupt reinzukommen.

-'roots'/'oase' zum beispiel fand ich auch schon (fast) immer scheiße,
und war auch seitdem man dort ne karte braucht nicht mehr da.
is aber der größte laden und stark frequentiert...kein plan warum;
vielleicht ja zurecht und ich tue dem laden unrecht.(glaub ich aber net )

-im 'huzur' braucht man eh schon seit längerem ne karte,der laden is
auch total unentspannt und wenig einladend,dafür is das preis/leistungs-
verhältnis,was das haschisch angeht,aber kaum übertreffbar.was dort z.b.
für sieben euro aus dem aquarium(,in dem der tender sitzt ) gereicht wird,
kaufst du woanders für zehn,zwölf euro.is aber echt nur´n laden zum kaufen
und direkt wieder gehen(ins noppes z.b.,hundert meter weiter).

-für das 'klein maar fijn' aka 'rastaman' aka 'easyman' braucht man zwar keine
karte,würde aber sagen,dass touristenfalle und überteuert auf den laden
als einzigen uneingeschrännkt zutrifft

-im 'nobody´s place' dagegen sitzen abends nicht selten mehr holländer
als deutsche rum...
man brauch zwar auch ne karte,das weed is nicht (mehr) billig,
die auswahl dagegen kann sich teilweise aber echt sehen lassen;
und auch was das piece angeht,
wovon es im huzur ja z.b.bloß marrokanisches in verschiedenen
qualitäten gibt...während im nobody´s praktisch alle gängigen
herkunftsregionen vertreten sind.seitdem der laden aber durch
glas-trennwände,zum schutze der nichtraucher ,zerteilt wurde,
find ich den auch net mehr sooo chillig wie früher;
is aber imho trotzalledem der beste laden am platze,
und allemal besser als so mancher shop in a´dam.

p.s.:sorry,das ich jetzt auf deutsch geschrieben hab,hatte
im moment aber echt keinen bock,mir ständig irgendwelche vokabeln heraus-
zusuchen,und thefrenchguy scheint ja auch dem deutschen,zumindest
in einem gewissen maße,mächtig zu sein,wie er erwähnt hat.

Naja, die "Mitgliedskarte" krist aber in allen direkt umsonst gegen vorlage des Persos, das ist also kein großes Ding. *g*

Damals, in meiner Jugend (rofl *g*) hat man in Venlo noch relativ einfach die Lager-Wohnungen der Coffeeshops gefunden. Im Headshop wurde gesagt "klingel mal nebenan bei xxxx", dann ging die Tür auf, man kam in einen Vorraum mit dicker Stahltür und mehreren Kameras, dann ging die Stahltür auf, und auf gings in eine normale wohnung. Da saßen meistens mehrere sehr kräftig gebaute Herren, und einer der sich um den Verkauf kümmerte. So viel Weed und Pilze hab ich noch nicht auf einem Haufen gesehen Aber jut, irgendwoher musses ja kommen, wenn die Shops selbst nicht so viel auf Lager haben dürfen. Da hat man dann auch noch andere Preise bezahlt als in den Shops. Gut, das warn auch noch DMark lol

Nene ich bleib bei Arnhem. Wobei, wenn man schonmal da ist, kann man auch ne Stunde weiter fahren, so weit ists nach Adam ja nu auch nicht. Aber darum gings im ja nicht.
