Seed buying strategy
To those who have grown out many packs. #1 priority is to find a strain that helps my med. condition (Depression/anxiety). #2 priority is to find a keeper pheno. Or I guess after writing that, the two priorities cannot be seperated. Anyway. The dilema I need help with is do I buy a pack of many different strains that have been recommended or focus on several packs of fewer strains with great reps. I'm primarily looking at D.J., Chimera and possibly SOL.

When I finished writing the start of the thread I wasn't happy with it because it didn't convey very well the heart of what I'm wondering. I guess what I'm asking, is there a sufficiently good probability of finding a keeper in (1) pack from those breeders genetics to justify buying many different strains. For example, Flo has been recommended the most to me for a clear, euphoric up high for cutting through my depression and getting something accomplished during the day. For anti-stress and relaxing in the evening, Blueberry is most often suggested from those with experience that I've asked. But I'm also interested in a Calio cross like C-Plus or a Skunk cross like Sweetblue for day and Mental Floss, Mountain Jam or SWT1.1 for the evening wind down. So, do I focus on Flo and Blueberry and buy many packs of those looking for the killer pheno of each, or with the same money buy one of each of the above with the possibility that one of the others might work better for my condition than the suggested favorites?

Sorry P, I would at Blueberry for a uphoric kind of up high, anxiety will fade away.
Black Dominia for a good sleeper and no anxiety what so ever, couchlock Mountain Jam, I have going right now and it's looking stellar, killer yeild and smell, chunky buds. Can't go wrong with DJ and Chimera, a few keepers in a pack of 10 so far. Sweet tooth is also some killer. a few killer crosses out there as well Bogs, Sour Bubble delivers everytime and keepers everywhere. DJ, Blue Moonshine is out of this world and a keeper to be had in 10 plants. Indica or indica dom strains will be your best bet. Ask away, we've grown just about all of them at one time or another. Thanks for your responses. From them I've decided to try many strains with the money I have rather than concentrate. TK, I've tried BOG's Sweetcindy and the stems would always rot at the soil surface and flop, while other stains in the same grow did not, so I'm not sure what to think of his wares, whether I'll try them again or not. My depression is refractory, meaning nothing pharmecuetical works ( a blessing no doubt ). I tried, several years ago, some weed that I bought on the street. The stuff worked wonders but have no idea what it was. So that's why I'm on a strain quest. To sum up what I'm looking for is how you described Blueberry, TK, and if possible, leave me with enough short term memory to follow a TV show or a conversation. In smoke reports there is to little mention of what some have called the "social liability" of different strains or the retardation factor might be another way of putting it. So that is something I am curious about also.

Hey przcvctm,
I hear Legends Ultimate Indica (LUI) is good for anxiety/depression, I don't have first hand experience yet, give me 2 more months and I will. The other good ones are Blueberry strains, and the Master Kush or Hindu Kush strains. I have also found Purple strains to be good for depression as well. I have a purple pheno from the Blackberry S1s that were given out a while back....It puts me in a good mood everytime and for the next day too....Great anti-depressant. You can try the Nirvana 4 pack on Seedbay for $50, you can pick any 4 nirvana strains except the feminized ones. I hope you find something that works for you!

Man I only grow "retarded" weed, that's all there is for alot of us here or at least we are on the constant quest for it.
Legends Ultimate Indica is great as well as some of it's crosses. There is a stellar Blue Moonshine x Legend Ultimate Indica and some Ortega pheno crosses out there right now that are real tasty. DJ Short gear is a little pricey but well worth it IMHO. I have done his Blueberry and Blue Moonshine and both were consistantly potent good producers. Some people experience a few mutations in DJ Blues. TRC/Lonestar has tweaked his Blueberry to the point now that it far excedes in taste, yeild, and potency of anything out there. Blue13, Blue39, Super Blueberry F4's, Blue tooth all are out of this world hybrids created with passion. BOGS stuff is killer, don't knock it. I have grown out all but the newest of BOGS gear and is consitantly good, uniform in taste yield, and buzz potency. 100% rapid germ rates everytime. If you follow BOG at all you'll find out that he will do anything to help some one in need or someone struggling a little with his gear. He is a warm soul, top notch teacher and an accomplished breeder (notice the order). I lean real hard toward his Sour Bubble right now because it just kicks my ass and the exhale....taste...stellar. LSD and Lifesaver both will cure what ails you, especially the lifesaver, killer killer smoke. Priced right as well I like Reefermans Charles' Kush and Nutcruncher for super potent yet mellow highs. Mazar was a good mellow laid back buzz Some of the Grapefruits that are finding there way to market a real good. Nirvana stuff I like Jock Horror, Hindu Kush x Master Kush, and K2 Anyways If you don't have any luck give me a shout and I'll holler at the seed gods.hehe Tex |

Read up on DJ's F-13. He has said it's his favorite. If you want to go a little cheaper Nirvanas power plant always makes me feel all sun shiny. Not a one hit wonder, but great tasting and agreat fun, smiley happy high. I found an awesome keeper in 1 pack.
