As long as your plants gets about 6 hours of direct sunlight a day through the roof you will be fine light wise. The benefits are better security insects and animals are less of a problem. Depending on your location you can have problems with heat and humidity you'll need vents in the roof to help release them. Also you will need some air movement to strengthen the stems as they grow.
