Looking awesome Ambre! Have you found that you do better with scrogs by topping first? I ended up with two boys and two girls very nice purple streaks and good vigor. I am strongly considering crossing my johnny blaze with my medicine man , and since i have boys and girls of both I think I have a chance of finding something special. JB stretch and vigor combined with the med mans squat stature and quick flower (56 days) ......hmmmmm.peace.D.L.

Dr L- Yes, I get better result from SCROG (and LST) by topping first. This encourages branching for a bushier plant instead of a long stretched out plant.
That cross sounds interesting. Are you going to try both ways to compare results (i.e., JB female x MM male for one cross and MM female x JB male for the other)? I've been reading that the mothers & fathers tend to pass on different characteristics to the offspring; it would be interesting to see if that's true. |

Ambre , yes I intend to cross both ways . I beleive in the first cannabible there are a few strains which were produced this way and yes they did produce different characteristics.peace D.L.

Clones!
Tonight I took clones from each of the plants. One set was immediately put on 12/12 lighting to sex the plants; the rest were put into 18/6 lighting to allow them to root and get ready for flowering.
The plants currently in my flowering garden look like they will be ready soon. I've cut their nute level down to about 800 ppm and will drain the res to start flushing in a couple of days. Here's to flowering! Last edited by ambre; 12-11-2005 at 05:36 AM.. |

I'll get a proper update posted before the weekend. The plants in the cloners are doing well; leaves are starting to yellow, which means the plants are starting the process of forming roots. None of them are showing sex yet, but I didn't expect that before 12-14 days as young as these plants are. Here's a pic of the babies in the bubbler cloner (this is the one on 18/6, not on 12/12).
I cut the seed plants back tonight as they are threatening to outgrow the veg area already. I could have taken 4-6 more clones from each plant tonight with the amount I cut off. I harvested my previous crop this past weekend. I'll spend this weekend cleaning and rebuilding the flowering garden so it's ready to go as soon as the clones are. I figure that I'll probably start flowering around the 16th. |
