Dr. L - These will be grown SCROG, so what I plan on is growing the seed plants large enough to take clones. One set of clones will be immediately put into 12/12 to sex them and I'll dispose of males (removing males from a SCROG is a real pain). Since Red says these have a lot of stretch during flowering, I'll be putting them in to flower pretty short; no more than a foot or so tall.
My current crop should be ready to harvest around the end of Nov, so I'm hoping to get these in to flower pretty quickly after that. I'll probably flower a set of clones rather than the original seed plants - the last set of seed plants grew too many roots in the communal bubbler to make it possible to remove them & put them in the flowering area. |

Dr L-
No, I only keep plants together for mothers/seed plants & smaller clones. Once they go into the flowering garden, each plant has its own container. I'm currently running the flowering garden as ebb & flow, but I plan on switching over to recirculating bubblers for this run. I have a test setup on recirculating bubblers running now to see how they do. It makes maintaining the garden easier; instead of having to check & adjust separate bubbler units for each plant, I only have to check & adjust the reservoir. |

Update - Taking Off!
11-7 (v7)
High 86F, 65%; low 75F, 52%. 11-8 (v8) JB4 & JB6 never came up; threw them out The first little root from a seedling is showing out the bottom of a cup - time to move into a cloner size bubbler. Cloner 1: 1 gal RO water, nutes 2/1.5/2, 2 drops superthrive. 370ppm, ph 6.1. Added 2 drops pH down; pH 5.7. High 86F, 68%; low 75F, 49% 11-9 (v9) Cloner 1: 360ppm, pH 6.3. Added 1c water, 4 drops pH down; 340ppm, pH 5.2 Seedlings very happy - they look like they have almost doubled in size in 24 hours! High 95F, 61%; low 78F, 38%. Need to move these into veg garden; this is too hot 11-10 (v10) A cold front rolled through overnight - temps are much better this morning! Here's a pic showing the seedlings just transplanted into the bubbler, what they looked like 24 hours later, and what they look like 34 hours later (just a few minutes ago) |

Update
11-12 (v12)
340ppm, pH 5.8 Room temp 82.2F high, 79.9F low. Garden temp 89F high, 77F low; RH 55H, 40L. 11-13 (v13) 340ppm, pH 6.0. Added 1c water & 2 drops pH down; 330ppm, pH 5.6 Room temp 83.8F high, 79.9F low; garden temp 91F high, 77F low; RH 77H, 41L. Growing well; about half the plants have the 4th set of real leaves showing. 11-14 (v14) Too sick with a migraine to do anything tonight. 11-15 (v15) 300ppm, pH 5.9. Added 6 oz water & nutes 0g/1m/2b (ml/gal). 480ppm; pH 5.7. Room temp 82.6F high, 73.9F low. Garden temp 91F high, 71F low. Humidity 40L/ 56H Growing very quickly now; 5th set of leaves starting to show on some seedlings. Here is a pic as of 11/15, evening: 11-16 (v16) 430ppm. Added a bit over 2c water & nutes 0/1/2. pH 5.6, 530ppm Room temp 75.0F high, 70.5F low. Garden temp 82F high, 69F low. Humidity 41L/ 60H JB7 is a monster! Already branching, as are a couple others. I topped JB7 to keep it from getting too tall. 11-17 (v17) Worked until MUCH too late; no time to take measurements. I just topped off water Here is a pic; growing extremely fast! Growth is impressive at this point. I need to set up a second bubbler to spread the plants out & give them more light. I expect I'll be topping more plants over the weekend; some of them are already branching nicely. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can have clones ready to go within a few days of harvesting the current crop so the flowering garden doesn't have a lot of downtime. b_is_me- They are on 18/6 lighting at the moment.
I just added a second bubbler to the unit and spread the plants out so they have more room. I also added more light so they have a total of 80 watts daylight (6500k) and 26 watts warm white (3000k). I also increased the nute TDS to 560 as they are growing quick enough to need more nutes now. |
