hey ambre, lookin tough homegirl
we keep a few battery operated (hehe waterproof) compact flourescent camping/fishing lanterns handy to light the area when the power goes out. Electrical supply houses sometimes have the 2 or 4 foot auxillary power strips that you recharge, they have the tubular flouros, just something to think about next time you are out shopping.. it can be brutal later on, i keep a 24/0 vegetative photoperiod tho so maybe thats why i have such issues when the lights go out. keep us updated! looks like you're going to be rollin in the haze in no time ![]() cj |

CJ-
Problem is that I wasn't home when it happened. I know it was several hours because of the timer hooked up to that power strip. The rest of the house came back on, but the GFCI protection on that power strip cut the electric to everything plugged in to it. The GFCI on the outlet didn't pop, just the one on the power strip. I may have to replace that power strip if it happens again. I have about 6 of those GFCI power strips in use around the house and none of the rest popped. |

Yes, it is also a surge protector strip. I have a bunch of the cheap ones that I use, too, but the cheap strips get plugged into the GFCI strips (the cheap ones tend to have fans & air pumps plugged into them - things that run 24/7). If something shorts out, the GFCI strips are another layer of protection to protect the house. I don't think it beeps, it just goes out until the reset switch is pushed. The battery backup units I use on my computers beep when the power goes out - that's irritating enough. Good to know that haze is good for migraines. I've heard that Trainwreck is, too, but the description of the odor & flavor were enough to discourage my trying it while I need to keep stealth! Maybe once we find land & have privacy. |

which haze
sorry ambre, they dont tell us on the street what they are selling us lol
the earthier stringier more pure sativa hazes are what do it for me. The stronger hitters like ssh and other indica hybrids are great too i just find that, for me, the hazy haze is where it's at medicinally (for this) ssh and the others are terrific and managable plants, if i had the dough i'd buy a pack of beans but i may wait till i can find old greenhouse stock. The haze hybrids make me dizzy when i smoke too much, the other haze doesn't. then again, your body chemistry is different than mine.. i say if you havent tried sativa for that headache issue u may want to consider. earthy nyc haze-my head trauma meds ![]() an example of a haze hybrid, jack, that we grow, VERY stoney, takes away from what you are trying to accomplish, you basically forget your headache is even there with the hazes..this stuff here has indica in it, the above pic is more like it... <---here's to the JB curing what ailes ya ![]() good luck ambre cj Last edited by CaptainJack; 11-01-2005 at 10:04 PM.. |

msober - I have two of the Rubbermaid garden units now. The small one will be a nursery primarily (seedlings & clones); the bigger one is an auxiliary flowering area. I've only had the units built for a few weeks, so these are the first sets of plants in them.
The seedlings are in the small one for initial growing; once they are big enough, I'll transfer them to cloner-size bubblers. When they outgrow this small garden, I'll move them to my main mothers/veg garden and use the small Rubbermaid garden to root & sex clones. Since I'll be doing the JBs SCROG, I don't want to have to remove males after they are in the main flowering garden. The large Rubbermaid currently has the extra female clones from my Lifesaver/MMM grow in it. The plants weren't sexed prior to starting flowering, so I had extra clones ready to replace the males as they were found. Since there were a few clones left over and I don't have any other smoke, I kept the extra clones to snitch buds off of so I wouldn't be tempted to start cannibalizing buds from the main flowering garden. I'll probably put another batch of indicas in the larger Rubbermaid garden at the end of this crop since the JBs are going to take a lot longer to flower. |

Update
JB4 & JB6 still have not popped the seeds. I gently removed the top layer of perlite to check and the seeds have not popped open at all. I re-wet them and replaced the plastic covers to give them a few more days.
11-3 (veg day 5) Second set of leaves showing on most of the seedlings. High 84F, 63% Low 78F, 52% 11-4 (v6) High 87F, 81%; Low 82F, 50% 11-5 (v7) Added another air intake to the container Second set of leaves out on all seedlings Nutes still 1/1/1, H2O2 High 86F, 62%; Low 80F, 50% 11-6 (v8) Switched to 18/6 lighting today. Since the room these are in also contains the larger Rubbermaid garden, it gets warm during the period those lights are on. I have the lights turned off in this garden during the period of highest heat from the other garden, 10 pm to 4 am. Growth is looking good. They should be big enough to go into a clone-size bubbler in the next couple of days. High 86F, 60%; low 77F, 51% |
