Earliest plants can go into greenhouse? + Rep

As above. Pretty simple question I'm looking at the summer solstice(longest day of the year) is 15 hours and 20 odd minutes. Now i'm thinking of starting my plants indoors and then taking them outdoors but thing is I want to grow them in a greenhouse with natural lighting vs 18/6 indoor lighting.

This time of year the hours of sunlight per day are just getting close to 14 hours a day, and will continue to get longer until june. I'm thinking If I start the seeds when the days are 14 hours minimum I can veg a plant without stretching it, and without it flowering early. Does anyone have experience with this/ know if 14 hour days are enough to keep the plant from stretching/flowering? Any help would be appreciated.

From seed they should be just fine. I have had seedlings outdoors for about two weeks and they are doing good.

i've had my seedlings & clones outside for about a month now, they're doin great.
when the sun goes down i bring them inside and put them under a flourescent untill midnight. light comes on at 6am, when i wake up at 8am i take them outside. therefore keeping them at 18/6.
once we get to the longest day of the year which is mid june they're going into the ground for good.
have you tried anything like that?
BTW each plant is in a 3gal pot.
were you looking to just plant your seeds straight into the ground? i prefer starting mine in pots just for this exact reason.

If the plant is very light sensitive 14 hours of light can be enough to put it in flower if you go directly from 18/6 to 14/10. Your best bet is to supplement with some extra hours of light if necessary as stated by Mr.C, some small cfl lamps are enough.

Seedlings aren't nearly as susceptible to early flowering as clones are. I always put a seedling or two out very early in the spring, some years as early as March 1st. I have never had a seedling to early flower, not saying it isn't possible, it just hasn't happened yet and I have been growing a few years. I asked my husband if he had ever experienced early flowering in seedlings and he has not - he has been growing outdoors for more than a few years.

That's just what I like to hear, I have a few NL5 seeds germinating as we speak, should be in soil and sprouted by monday. I would imagine with the days getting longer by 10 or so minutes every day and the fact I have a very forgiving plant that it will stay in veg and flower like a normal plant when the days start getting shorter. *crossing my fingers*
