It depends on the size of the growroom you're dealing with, but for under 4 sqft, that light would do well so long as you have a reflector. That or, hang it vertical and up your yeild significantly.
It could definitely provide for a personal supply if that's what you're looking for. CFL is also cooler running than HID bulbs (eg. hps), meaning less ventilation/cooling requirements. What are your plans for the grow? Good luck! |

hello. It is perfect for vegetative ...
It will also work for flowering, the problem is , if you'll have 5 plants big or small that won't be really enough to get some 'yield' you can go thru it no probs just I'm pretty sure you won't get over the 40-50 grams mark (and even that would be really OK for the first time with that light) I'd advise you to get a 150w hps for flowering if you want to keep things simple and small. Even better a 250w hps. Or if you have access to another one of the cfl's that'd be 250w which is powerful enough to make a worthy yield. The buds won't be as dense, and a bit more fluffy under those lights, HPS is really much better for flowering. Try to get one. You're saying you have a small growroom, what dimensions? Good luck. |

You can use the blue one but the red would be better. If it was me I'd get A red one and run them both during flower. You really need more light in flower than you do in veg.

Should work well, I agree with aim-9 that you should try to get a 250 watt CFL for flower, if available. This, or whatever the biggest watt red bulb you can find is, will make a huge improvement over a single bulb. It's really hard to have too many lumens.
May I also suggest scrog or lst methods, as they lead to bigger and more consistent yeilds with the CFL bulb's lower canopy penetration. read this for detail on training methods |

For vege, for sure, just apply sparingly (not full strength) starting at week 2-5 of vege usually. You'll need a bloom fert for flower too. Something with more P and K.
