it can only be 1 of 3 things ballast, ignitor or capicitor .Ballast dont usually fail, try replacing cap and ignitor

Check it with another bulb if you have one. I just had the same thing happen and had my ballast half in the box for return to the store before it dawned on me to check the bulb. Turned out it was the bulb.

If it's a buzzing noise then the transformer is trying to supply the running current, there should be a bang when you first switch it on, as the igniter tries to vaporise the sodium in the HPS tube .... if there's both then it's the bulb

Did you turn it off, and then try to turn it back on right away? If so, let it sit, off, for 15-20 minutes, then plug it back in. If you knew this already, sorry mate, just tryin to help, happened to me recently though :-P

If the globe is OK open it up. Turn power off first though.

Check the female plug at one end where the lamp lead plugs into.

I had this come off the mount once and no power was getting to the lamp even though I could here the ballast working.

Don't touch the capacitor with anything, it may give you a kick.

Home Depot has them for 20 bucks. I wanna say they're Philips bulbs, the build quality inside the bulb is better than most grow bulbs imo. They work great with my digi ballast.

I used to use the spendy grow bulbs but tbh I could never tell the difference in the light they gave off, just my wallet. You an also rotate bulbs more frequently and painlessly when they don't cost 85 bucks.
