3 days dark question - New Growers - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

i have a DNA genetics Hashplant Haze at 10 weeks starting today. their website says its a 9-10 week plant.

i have put it into complete darkness for 2 days now, on Wednesday it will be the 3rd day.

when i had put it in complete darkness it had like 30% white pistils on top of the bigger colas, whereas the bottom parts of the big colas are swollen and receded.

my question is: would it be okay to put this female back underneath light to let it fill out more?

this is one of my first grows nearing completion, and also my first time doing the dark period, and I wouldn't want the hph to hermie because of unwanted light stress.

Hey dude, You dont have to harvest the whole thing at once, if a few branches are done, but others not, there's no harm in only harvesting half the plant.

In terms of 2/3 days dark, I only tried it once and didn't notice anything myself, but others will no doubt swear by it so up to you really, whatever fits your bill. Keep the air circulating around the buds though to avoid any mould starting up.

yeah i checked on it and there literally is no difference. but on the other hand i only had it in there for like 54 hours. i placed it back underneath my 400w hps and will keep it there for another week or so; till she ambers up.

don't know if it makes a difference. tried a couple times but the amber was not seriously different. I have a buddy that swears by doing 3 days of darkness and the last week including these days he only uses ICE to water his girls and as much of it as he can. He is convinced by cooling the roots like this as much colour as possible is brought out and crystally as hell. His claim. would be worth trying on a blueberry...

heard of that be careful w ice can damage plants... never did it myself only visited an op and seen it there so it may have been a random one-off event

Doesnt sound far fetched.... for Dro resevoirs they have chillers/coolers..

they have coolers because the pumps give off too much ambient heat in a big aero/nft/ebb system, thus raising the water temp to unacceptable levels. i have also heard this myth, call the mythbusters!!!

i know a cool air drop in temp is beneficial for trichomes for a few hours before lights turn on. Why not try it with the root system as well? I am gonna try it one of these days.

wow i have never heard of the ice cube trick, sounds interesting. i saw that someone mentioned the use of ice cubes in hydro, is it possible to do it in soil?
