THAT bulb is a foot long, and about 5 inches wide, draws 105 watts, and puts out nearly 7000 lumens
great bulb if you have the space, just realize it's the BIGGEST CFL BULB YOU HAVE EVER SEEN. the bulb will draw 105 watts ACTUAL electricty, which is EQUIVALENT to about 400 watts of INCANDESCENT lighting. they do the confusing "wattage comparison" so the average housewife can choose the appropriate CFL conversion from incandescent lighting, but I agree with you, it's just confusing when trying to choose ACTUAL wattage numbers. Home-De-Pot has that bulb for under $15.

I agree you should look at the "real" wattage of 105w as this is the number everyone uses in comparing grows/specs. Just an FYI, that "real" wattage is still not the real wattage at all! CFLs are very inefficient so it's probably using something more like 140 ish or more. If any CFLs are lying around and list the amps, you can check that for yourself: There is a law that states watts = amps x volts so type in your amps and volts and see what you get. Other fluoros like pl-l or t-5 have much higher efficiency ballasts than CFLs and as such are a far better choice. By the way even that is not the true real wattage but it's close enough
