Well if you can be newer than new...that's me. I'm learning as I grow. These are my 3 seedlings I planted from some decent bag seeds I pulled off a bud. I put them in dirt on 3/7/10 and they're now 28 days old.
Thanks to FreezerBoy I followed the instructions to save my overly long stemmed seedlings and I'm feelin' better about the plants now. One of them looks great, the other two not bad. It seems like since I've replanted them they've slowed their growth a bit. I run 24/7 -- Dual 24" T5 about 18" above. I ONLY give them RO water with some nutes mixed in. How do you keep from DOING TOO MUCH? I feel like I want to "do this" or "do that" or "water or feed or light or fan"!!! If these things can survive in the wild without man intervention I guess the "less I do the better"?? Sitting around and watching plants grow without doing something to them everyday....arghhh. I think I'm going to read or sing to them now! I have ZERO idea what a new seedling would look like after 22 days so any input would be helpful. Thanks! |

You must learn to ignore the urge to fukkemup. Lose the force Luke.
Your t5 should be less than 4 inches from the tops. |

The bending of your leaves, that's a sign of over-watering. Letting the soil dry out between watering is crucial for seedlings to grow properly.

This is the money you could be saving if you grow your own weed

I think they need more light. Those look only slightly bigger than the seeds that just popped 2 days ago. My plants would be ready to flower at day 22. Have 3-4 nodes and be 16-18 inches tall. Check out the pic in the "fan on seedling thread" below. Those plants are only a week old. Sorry....
Lowering the lights may help give the tiny ones more light. You might need to get a more intense light source. I don't know FL Tubes, of CFL bulbs.

Ok I'm 100% sure that my three new seedlings are waterlogged. One is going to be ok, they other so-so and the last, looking major droopy.
With that being said....can I simply prepare a new pot with fresh soil and transplant my wet babies? |

Check it out man
![]() Love kills more noob seedlings then anything else, so before over reacting to any conditions remeber to read read and read some more to make sure you are making the correct choice. The reason the growth has slowed is the roots are growing out into the new medium, the plant is cocentrating on root growth, it knows it has a new home. Once they "grab ass" they will begin growing again and at a faster rate then experienced in the old pot with smaller roots. The reason they may be over watered is they are in a new pot and their root system is not suffcient to remove the extra water form the pot. A trick with transplanting and especially seedlings is let them completely dry out in between waterings, this causes the roots to "have to" search for water thus spreading roots around the pot at a faster rate, meaning you you get your roots established faster and you get back to growing the plant faster. Get familair with watering by looking at the soil and feeling the weight of the pot. DON'T overlove them, don't overthink it, ask for help here, get familiar with the site and its search functions. This is a one stop shop with experts, hobbyist, and professionals from all over the world. Most of all read for like the next three years and then cut it down to a couple hours a day, prepare to be consumed! Good luck P.S. to cure the waterlog, I would either get them some plcae warm, like on a heta mat or something. Have a dehumidfier? If not and you plan on growing consistent good medicine you will end up needing one anyways. Enviorment first everything else comes after. A dehumidifier will dry those pots up to a respectable range in 24-48 hours. Don't repot, the heavy weighted soil will tear your roots and further stunt growth. Glad to see more michigan people come out of the woodwork, welcome to International Cannagraphic University |

U need to move ur lights closer and leave them be. You cannot transplant seedlings over and over and expect great results. Let them be. Provided ur using good soil your dirt should have enough nutes in it that the seedlings don't have to be fed at all for the first few weeks. Take your time and learn a little thing called patience when it comes to your babies. There is nothing u can do to speed up the plants life cycle.
I am the most impatient person in the world but when it comes to these I have to let them be. I hope I was able to help u. Keep it green and safe.

as many times as "necessary", any other time is just adding stress.

trans planting dose not cause stress unless you hert the roots or stem or leave out to long
you should plant seeds in pure perlite seeds dont like water at all so get some perlite and mix with the soil you have then put back in the pot and the water on the roots will susstain them 1-3 days but youll have to just geuss cuz the new soil is dry but roots are not youll be fine but your soil is to tight so lossen it up and youll be fine if you dont do that your plants will die or not grow but an inch a month instead of an inch a day like mine and your lights fine as long as your getting side branches and i just used a 27w cfl to veg my last ones so 99% its not the light but the soil and about the trying not to do to much just do research all day then only apply once fully understood i dont know if this is indoor or out but i have suggestions on ignoring your mj either way so ya still need help give a shout ill hear ya |
