Container size , well water ?

I am in the process of starting my first batch. My well water has a presence of coliform in it ,do I need to get an alternative water supply? Also, I have a 4x8 container box in a 10x19 room and would like to grow 15 plants , is this enough area and what size pots should I use and soil. The ceiling is 8ft tall. Colorado kid.Any advice will help.

Do you drink this shit ? If you do you're one of those guys who can go to Mexico and wonder why everyone else has the curse of Montezuma while you're fine. Don't ever offer me a glass of water if I come visiting. From a public health point of view, you might be able to clean up the water with a few cups of bleach down the well. Not good for the septic system if you have one, but better than giving the odd case of the trots to guests. Bigger question is where's the coliform coming from, you ought to address that.

Will the e. coli affect your mj ? It's like you have manure in your water, in that very limited sense it may help. Pre-fertilized water , if you will. Your biggest problem from a mj point of view is the overall condition of your water. What's the ec, what else is in it ?
Invest 20 bucks in a water test. Or if you already know that your water is contaminated, find the test results that told you that and see what else they covered.

I'll let someone else tell you they need to know about your lights, exhaust , and on and on before they tell you 15 is probably too many.
You ought to read up and do some planning as to how your going to pull this grow off, without a little homework first you'll be disappointed.

If you top your plants a general rule of thumb is a 2 by 2 area for each one.So 8 plants is good for a 4 by 8 area.Like I said if you top them! If no topping then maybe a couple more.Dont over do it!! You'll decrease your yield.
8 ft cieling is good just dont veg to long.
Im not a soil guy but Ive heard good things about Sunshine and Foxfarm for the basics. Do a search!
3-5 gallon pots are a basic size.

Good temps, fresh air exchange, bug prevention, enough lighting, air circulation(fans),odor control if needed,a semi clean area and lots of studying are some main keys to a good grow!

Good luck!
