A lot of the older lines would have been more potent then the skunk#1 you see today which has been pi**ed around with to make it a faster finnishing higher yielding type then the original from days gone by.

good point Blue, with it costing so much to get lab to find the thc % (potency) it makes sense that high yield,and faster flowering times are, like you said, the traits breeders would focus on.

I thought the % of thc was taken from the measurable psychoactive chemicals naturally present in cannabis....thc, cbn's and cbd's. thus the 20% or whatever is just 20% of the measurable psychoactive chems not 20% of the net plant you're testing...probably wrong but thought i'd throw my opinion into the mix.....

Plus the effect of the thc on its own would just make you paranoid as hell so just as important are the levels of cbn and cbd which lean more towards the happier and creative effects of cannabis........from what i've read or heard.

Im not sure if he'd want to go into it again, But Sam the Skunkman once wrote (in a similar thread on Overgrow a long time ago) that he had a sample of his skunk test at 28.5% by gas chromatography.

the pure is a skunk selection with more sativa in it...up high but average THC%...

Cheese is a Skunk#1 specimen and also contains around 20% THC...
With a large enough selection, male removal and adequate lightning, I don't see why it's not possible. Most cannabis strains are mainly skunk or afghan and a lot are in the twenties...

oil is like 90 % and hash can go as strong as 50% and 30% must be like the most you could ever reach with weed
