Grow Log: Mob Boss 1000W vert barebulb from seed
Hey Steele and the gang-
I just popped a pack of Mob Boss (this pack had 12 seeds). I soaked them, and all 12 sank. Popped them directly into FFOF and they're starting to pop up today.. so I whipped out my admitedly inferior camera and snapped some pics, and decided to start up a growlog here in the GrindHouse forum. That being said, I'm in a transitional period as far as my growing habits go. I'm using a shed containing a grow box as my primary location. This will be the first season I shouldnt have to fight temps too much (winter was quite the learning experience ) so I'm stoked to be running some quality gear. I use a 1000w vert bare bulb in a 4x4 wooden cab. I'm using a 6" inline centri fan for ventilation and that's ducted with solid aluminum ducting into a can style filter. I'll take some pics of the setup and add them to the log in the coming day or so. For nutrients, I've been sticking pretty closely to Rez's the recipe for a while now, using GH nutrients... and am moving away from FFOF and organics in general. It's sort of an odd combination to be using FFOF and GH, but it works, and I hate to waste supplies. That being said, this isn't my first grow, but I'm certainly no guru. I would appreciate any and all constructive comments and criticisms IC can throw at me. Here are some relevent/related photos: Packs ordered @ the boo: Look at thier little heads 9/12 @ 48 hours in soil: Here's the germ tray with a fluoro and the dome on: |

I'll sit along for the journey. I'm not far into my grow but its already growing faster than a set of prophet that i had growing for about a week before. Good luck.

Quick update: 11/12 as of right now. Tonight, I've got to work on some things in the flowering/veg cab so I'm going to snap some pics to give you an idea of what I'm working with. Stay tuned.

I've used GH and FFOF with Rez's nute recipe in the past, and had great results. I've made the switch over to organics, and love it, the GH + OF gives great yields IME.
Can't wait to see your mob boss take off! |

I really didn't mind the organics so much as the fact that where I live growing organically isn't really something the majority of people care about, so sourcing the products suggested at IC became pretty pricey. There's only one place within 50 miles of me that sells FF products, and they mark them up like 100%. I suppose I could order them like I do the GH stuff, but I can't get a gallon of anything with an FF label on it for 25$, and I suppose I really am just that frugal );

Hed333, welcome. Looks like you'll fit in right at home here......Had me a bit concerned seeing fresh pops in FFOF. Never used it but am very aware of how "hot" their shit is, I wouldn't recommend using it as a seedling mix. (I wouldn't fert fer a bit) They look great, healthy an' satisfied, them lil' ones.
I'll be watching, Stay healthy an' grow HARD, Steele |

Steele
I agree 100%. I'm just working with what's around. If I had my choice I'd germ into Light warrior or a LW/Perlite mix, but I'm gradually moving away from organics and wanted to use up this FFOF before I go to a more standard mix. It's been nice to me so far, with no signs of the seedlings being burned by it. I definitely won't be giving them anything but water for a bit ;-) |
