I'm in week 7 of flowering out Afgooey. The stalks have been getting a darker and darker red almost purple. 2 27watt cools and 1 26 watt warm cfl. I'm using a soil mixture and ewc. The ph is around 6.3. The buds are very dense and coated with trics.

Are the red stems a problem or part of this strain? Asking for future grows, hopefully trying to nip this prob in the bud.

Red stems can either be genetic ......or signify a P deficiency....which could be for a number of reasons....nute def....pH causing lockout....low temps.

At week 7 in flower.....I wouldn't worry about it. Your girl is using P for buds, not growing stems.

At week 7 it is normal for indica plants to start stripping the green pigment from their leaves, and stems. Ditto red stems are a common trait with some Afghan dominant strains. Peace
