Giovanni and other not so well know motorbikes/atv's
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with Giovanni motor bikes, looking at dirtbikes/atv's. I see they are less expensive, have well known motors (in china), and suspension parts. I see they are cheaper than more well known brands (yamaha, honda, kawasaki, suzuki, ktm, etc).
I am more inclined to buy an older name brand bike, strictly because of reputation, etc. Supposedly parts are harder to come by for the giovanni's but I live in a big city, and there are dealers all over where I am. Though it would be nice to buy something new, and not spend $5000. I am looking at a 250cc dirt bike, they are about $1000 or so new. My girlfriend wants an atv, she is also looking at this brand. I see mixed reviews, just like anything out there. I have a feeling they are alright though, I mean people had issues with the Hyundai name brand when they started here, and they have been good cars, they just carry that stigma still with the name and all. Any thought from some riders out there? https://www.giobikes.com/Dirt-Bikes-in-Canada/ |

sorry man, chinese junkers is what you'll own, weak drivetrains, unavailable parts (don't believe me? start shopping for parts right now as if you owned one & see how far you get), no tech support. just Google "chinese made atv's" and see what you get. As far as your local dealers there's no franchising on the brand and so they just order what they want when they want, if they don't want to stock parts that's going to be your problem as there are no franchise guidelines.
better off to shop name brand used from CraigsList, in this economy the first things to be sold by the unemployed are the power toys, cherry pick the nicest units (buyer beware if the deal sounds too good too be true it usually is) and be willing to make a day out of it for you and your sweetie for traveling to your purchase. my .02 |
