Completed Harvest: Aerogarden and 63w HGL
Hello all,
if you've followed my grow (as posted in LEDGirl's "What our customers are doing..." thread), you know I've been growing a single femmed LR2 from seed in an Aerogarden, and just as flowering got started, I put her under a 63w Penetrator. I harvested Wednesday night, 71 days from seed, and wanted to show the pics. I am still drying/curing, but will have a weight for you in a week or so. *EDIT* See my post below for updated info on the scale and weight! I'm quite pleased with the 63w, and currently have two clones in the Aerogarden, and will hold those in there as mothers in a vegetative state. I purchased a 126w unit, which will be here on Monday (Thanks, Cammie! ), and it will be in my new cabinet, over two DWC buckets and a home-built scrog screen.I could NOT have been more pleased, and whether or not I hit that mystical 1gm/W level, I will never grow with anything else than LEDs, and as far as I am concerned, HGL's are far beyond any others in the amount of research going into their efficacy in growing. Cammie, you can quote me on that. Enjoy the pics! |

Congrats Zombo, and thank you for the kind words.
![]() To my knowledge, you've produced the largest buds I've seen of anyone using our 63W light, which is awesome considering it's your first grow with our LED's! Thanks for the great bud shots, and regardless of the yield, those buds are very impressive for such low wattage.

Beautiful beautiful!
The way that bud looks it's very very obvious that it's not the lack of light that held the yield down - it's supercharged with resin and 21 gram / plant is probably a nice yield for a single Lowryder 2 plant under any circumstances. Now - 4 plants like that under that same lamp could be fun... I'm starting to believe now that we might actually be there now... I've always believed that LED was the future and while LED is probably still bleeding edge I'm convinced now - don't have the funds yet but I might very well try it out in the near future...

An amendment:
I found out the scale I was using was all freaking wonky. You could put a nickel on it, it would weigh 8, then 4, then 19 gms. It was broken. I borrowed a triple-beam Ohaus from a friend and weighed what I had left. 35gm. Add the probably 8-10 I've already shared and vaped, and we're talking 42-45gms with 63w, or for you purists: 42 grams/63 watts = .666 gm/watt 45 grams/63 watts = .714 gm/watt My first grow with LED. Didn't veg with LED. Aerogarden. Second grow EVER. Just you wait. Detractors may now STFU.

Honestly I thought something was off when you reported your weight the first time. I couldn't fathom how all of those nice nugs only came out to only 21g!
So if your total yield was 43 grams, your actual gram per watt number would be roughly .8, as the 2nd gen 63W units only draw about 54W for the LED's, and 6W for the fans. That's REALLY good for your 1st LED grow, and 2nd grow ever! Not to mention it makes the Aerogarden WAY viable for anyone interested in micro-growing. Think what your yield could have been if you'd have had (2) lowryders under that light
