Dog shit...what do you do?

I was just wondering what people do with their dog's poo. I usually just bag it and toss it. Last summer I tried to make a doggy septic tank out of a tall 5-6g bucket with holes drilled in it and put in the ground.

That failed. Too much shit in too little time for the enzymes to eat it up.

Anyone try one of those retail doggy doolie systems?

I have a total of 180+ lbs of dog (3 dogs) and I hate scooping the poop, easily my least favorite on the Honey-do list.

Your rott is bigger than your mastiff...nice.

I used to have a German Rott, best dog in the world. Until some jack-ass decided to shoot him from the road while I was out.

I got through about 40lbs of just dry food in about a month. I supplement the dry with a little canned food.

As far as stepping in it...been there done that. My 5gal bucket deal had a weak lid, and somehow...even though I knew it was there...I stepped in it. Fortunately I had just tossed in some grass clippings in hopes it would speed the decomp. It did not.

I just had a bucket full of crap and grass.

in NL we have specially designated shite bins (complete with poopy bag dispenser)... incredibley many people are so fucking lazy that they let their dogs shit NEXT to the bin and don't bother to pick it up... I find this especially annoying when I finding myself picking up 2 or 3 COLD/HARD dog turds before striking upon my own mutts HOT doings.... can you tell this winds me up? LOL

people who can't own dogs responsibly shouldnt own fucking dogs.. ppl who live in acres of countryside are excluded from my rant... my kid isn't like to play in your dogs doings in my local park etc

rant over.. hey a septic tank is a great idea too I could defintely use one of those over the summer months...lol

I am the same way when it comes to other dogs crap. Just a few days ago I stepped in crap at MY OWN MAILBOX!!! I proceeded to deliver it back to the neighbor's yard.

LOL... yeah I'm a bit touchy about discarded dog poop mate

hehehe

edit - here's a story... back at home in wales I knew a lad who went blind from toxiplasmosis (dog poop in the eye) and subesquently he hated dogs... and then afterwards had to rely on a guide dog for just about everything... I doubt that poor hounds job was an easy one....doh!

lol, if I bury it, then I will have what looks like mole hills all over. I prefer my grass.

I too, would love to know how dog poo got in the guys eye though.

I just happen to live beside a field. I just toss it over the fence. Once or twice a year I throw lime on it to speed up the decomposing.
