Canna Aqua and PH
Hey people.
I already have a thread going in the infirmary. My new hydro unit has been causing all manner of hell with fluctuating PH so on another ICMAGers advice I changed to canna. The PH continually rose from 5.4 when I first added it (tap water was 7.3 befor I added nutes) to 6.9 over the course of aound 11 hours. The member then advised me by upping my nutes leves from 0.5-1 EC it would help the nutes buffering ability. I did this and it worked. The PH initially went down to 5.8 when I added the nutes however they have now crept up to 6.4. I read this speil about canna aqua on the back of the botle and another website that claimed that although the PH fluctuates during the first couple of days it eventually setles and sits on 5.2-6.2. It also said on the botle that I should not use any PH down until the buffering capabilities have done their thing. Have any canna users experianced this? Also will these wild PH fluctuation damage my plants while I wait for them to settle? Should I add PH down to try and control the PH until the CAnna starts to do it's thing? https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.p...=1#post3308379 Theres the thread on my problem. The other users involved have been extremely helpful but canna disagrees with what Im being told about reducing the PH. Im inclined to agree with the guys on that thread because surely an immensly high PH will damage my plants? |
