Not sure where to post this. It's a question for growers.

What books do you think are must have for an indoor grower using hydroponics?

I read Jorge Cervantes first iteration of his book and recently read the latest update. I'm not knocking the guy, his books are a great place to start and pretty to look at. I enjoyed reading them. But the book is really just an overview IMO. Also read a few others released back in the 70s. I did very well growing outdoors. The technology has changed over time, the literature has improved. I've got a "Wish List" of books on Amazon that look OK, can't read the whole book but most of them seem to be a bit overview(ish) as well.

I think this forum and a few others are great resources but I've always been a book freak anyway; not much for following step by step how-tos unless I know and understand the theory behind them. So. I'm looking for a few good books that can help me establish that foundation of knowledge.

Anybody got a favorite or three? Care to share why you think it's so damned good?

yo frisco, I would look at the sub forums in the growers forum and fan through all the information there. There are really good posts about DWC and drip setups and whatnot.

I'm just starting out myself but I'll echo everything that's been said. I'd always trust ICMAG over any book. It's made up of a community of impartial members and is updated everyday with new information. Real world information.

I'll add that for me it was helpful to pay attention to to the longer threads with a lot of pages, the stickies, and anything in Pontiac's DIY Link-O-Rama thread. The more I saw home built hydroponics systems the more I understood how they were supposed to work.

Most every thing I have learned in order to do my first grow has been from this site and my grow is just flourishing check it out and if I have any questions I find the answers here.
If you feel the need to spend money to learn to grow then donate your money to this
site instead of buying a book.
