Merlin's Magic Test Grow - Micro Style

Hello everyone

To begin I must apologize for the delay. I could fill a thread up with all the details, but I won't go there.

Thank you so much DG and Gypsy for this opportunity

This is only my 5th round growing, but the knowledge I've acquired here is several life times worth. I have an autistic spectrum condition and daily cannabis use has dramatically improved my quality of life.

Unfortunately I don't live in a friendly area and if all goes well I plan to relocate myself to CA shortly following the end of this grow. Right now that seems impossible with my issues so I'm focused on the here and now. Because of such I grow Micro in a Stealth cab I designed with a lot of help from ICMAG members. The coolest part about my cab is the fan I use which is bar none the quietest way to move 80CFM of air through a carbon filter. 120mm or 5'' DC/AC fans at 80CFM are louder. The fan is even inside the cabinet which eats up 1 square foot which leaves me with 2 square feet of grow space. About 18''x16''x28.5'' tall.

I'm using 2.5''x2.5''x10'' containers with half Fox Farm Ocean Forrest and half Sunshine Mix #2. I use the entire line of Fox Farm's liquid and powder nutrients. I keep my pH 6.4-6.6. Only sometimes I use the Big Bloom and Grandma's molasses. My bulb is a 150w HPS and the air gets exchanged about 9 times per minute.

My containers are treated with MicroKote. It is a paint that consists of Calcium, Magnesium, Copper, Iron, and Manganese which effectively does what an air pot does. It stops the tips of the roots from growing which supposedly allow the plant to make better use of the soil.

I've been off to a shakey start like usual, but all is well that ends well. I got a 100% germination rate. There is only 9 plants because I managed to lose a seed somehow. I soaked them in water for 12 hours and one had already popped. At that point they all where placed into the medium and in 2 days they all had poked above soil. They started in a make shift home which didn't have enough light so they stretched a bit. I also over watered some and they dampered.

About 2 weeks later. I didn't give them enough Nitrogen soon enough and I'm fairly confident that is what caused the poor health of my lower leaves. Other factors include some heat stress, fan burn, low humidity;25%, and I also run an Ozone generator for my safety even though it causes minor harm to the plants. This is the warmest time of the year indoors for me and I'm not allowed to have my windows open 24/7 to bring the cold winter air in. My flower hours are over night so I won't have any issues once that begins. All my vegging was done under 24/0.

The back row and the little ones are different strains and the ones clustered in the middle are Merlin's Magic. I transplanted them, topped and put the tops into peat pucks for cloning.

3 days later. Merlin's Magic on the bottom.

The ones that look the worse where too close to the fan.

Then a day after that.

And today I changed the bulb to vertical. I will let them veg a few more days and then It is time to begin flowering.

Profile shots.

The one on the left was topped two days later than the rest.

And the other strains I'm running are Bubble Gum, Princess Diesel X AK47, and Princess Diesel X C99.

I'll do my best to stay current for future updates. Take care everyone.

Thanks for stopping in guys.

I'm not sure of the details bigscoot, but I'm still pretty sure ozone is harmful to our plants. If your not noticing anything visible I wouldn't worry about it if I was you. I've seen numerous people here on ICMAG report the fan leafs went to hell when they ran the generator inside their grow spaces. My OZN Jr unit is rated to treat 1000sq ft (must assume 8ft ceilings or something) and my apt isn't even half of that. Even it did cause more serious harm I'd personally still use it for safety. I use it in another room and I think that is what most people do.

Day 0 of flower.

The entire front row and 3 on the side are Merlin's Magic. I modified the tub so it could slide in and out of my cab easier so I think I'll stick with it even though I might loose about 2'' of floor space somewhere. I'll train the plants back with strings and what not if that is what it takes to keep them from plunging into the bulb. The front row will always be Merlin's Magic in my pics unless otherwise noted.

Down the road I may end up trimming off those damaged ones so they'll look prettier :] I'm not in any position to win a beauty contest with my setup, but I'll try my best.

They've really taken off these last few days. I'm seeing some variation in the amount they are stretching despite my efforts to keep them level.

Keep in mind when looking at my canopy I'm doing vert. Am I only the only one testing MM with a vertical bulb?
