The Prophet: Hydro v. Soil for MMJ.
I'm currently in the planning phase for my MMJ setup, and I've decided I'm going to do a run of the Prophet along side some Pre98 Bubba Kush & OG Kush. Both the Bubba & OG are going to be grown Hydro, but I'm much better with soil so I was curious if anyone has any experience with the prophet when it comes to the grow medium?
I haven't determined the number of grows it will take, but I hope to be able to pass along the Prophet to some SoCal dispensaries. Thanks for the help, |

GeekUSA, good question and here's my take on it..... Soil grown pot is tasty but lacks when trying to grow for numbers. That said, you can run a soil-less mix (i.e. promix) and run yer "organics" in with it. I recommend to water in most, if not all yer nutes, giving you a better idea of exactly what yer feeding yer plants, being able to customize at different plant stages, when problems arise and ...... I myself prefer a synthetic/organic blend using Dyna-Grow as a base nute. (Running GH fer years, we switched to Dyna after side by side testing, showing GH to be inferior.) I love MetaNaturals as my secondary fert, but I think one of tha main issues when it comes to finishing crops, is tha flush. Many folks'll use a ClearEx/plain water flush fer 3-14 days. And while using tha clearing solutions is great fer acouple days, anythang over this is just flushing out and creating this bland flavored herb. I love using Earth Juice's Catalyst, PHing tha water to 5.5-6.3 and using this flush to finish tha crops. Tha Catalyst, though not very consistent from batch to batch, imparts a natural, clean burning and flavorful pot.
Hope this helps, Steele |
