If you make a dog part of the family and teach the dog that the house/yard is its territory,it will naturally be protective.
Treat it with love and respect and it will give it right back.

Showing 'grow guard dogs' not only could be a security breach for many, but also encourages and reinforces negative stereotypes about certain breeds

these 2 australian shepherds are brothers and they are great gaurd dogs... very good natured but very suspicious of things they dont recognize

once some black guys gave me a ride to my house and the dogs were raising holy hell as well came up the long driveway. The one kid says those are pretty dogs ,what kind ...?
before I could answer the other black kid in the car said " EAT YOUR ASS UP DOGS"
LOL I said "yep"

they really are smart as shit and they dont think twice about a person once me or the family has introduced them

they are good boys

and here is my border collie too ,"lucy" is very alert , vocal, fast and smart...matter O fact she is the "pack leader"

This dog, Koa...was killed by neighbor dogs...they always fought at the fence (Chainlink) and one night she got her foot caught in the fence...the other dogs ripped her foot off...she bled out...and we found her the next day-- RIP Koa...

This one, the Shepherd mix Kodi...hell, he just died a few weeks ago...we don't know why, but suspect it was a sick squirrel or something he ate--

This is Pedro... he was a stray we found...he wouldn't listen to anything we said...untill we said something in Spanish...then he did it-- So we named him Pedro--
He is still going strong-- We will be getting more soon--

RIP to "Dogs-Gone"--
