Cheap macro-camera

Good macros are made with good (expensive) lenses.

Compact digicams are comming after...

My Canon IXUS 800IS took pretty good amateur macros.
The cam combined macro (1 cm) with digital zoom.
Up till 3.4 digital zoom the results were decent.

Now Iīve just read about a Pentax compact cam with led-lights for macros...

Iīve preordered Pentax Optio W90....
In a few weeks Iīll let you know if it was worth the investment

And was it worth the investment? I'm looking for a new camera myself and macro ability is an important functionality for me

I went through this before Christmas, I kept seeing these great Macro shots from gent and I shot him a PM and asked "What camera" He replies!

You will not believe me when I tell you.

OK

He says I bought it from Walmart for $79 ???

What??

Cannon A490. And it will shoot trichomes shots. I had the kids buy me one for Christmas and it is everything I ever needed in a camera. Takes great regular pics too! Here are a few shots I took. I am still learning but this camera is the Bomb for the $$$

Pics are copyed to my pc, opened in Irfanview, change size to half and finally give it a small sharpen ("shift+s" one time).
I sharpen one time since the halfsized pics gets a little "fuzzy".

But here they are again.
This time juse resized in Irfanview from 4000x3000 pixels to 2000x1500 pixels (couldnīt uploade original size to ICMag!)
Size on my pc are 195-394 kb.
I dont know what uploading to ICMag does to them.

Enjoy
